😁. Is Rt 172 somewhere around Atwood? I’m told where 172 meets Atwood there is some great shore fishing. I can’t find Rt 172 near Atwood??
Thats really interesting, I hadn't heard about active springs since the 60's. We always frequented the spring in Elyria It was really great tasting water.

I used to fish Atwood a lot. Always from shore. We fished by the dam, where the park is. We caught tons of bluegill, some 1 pound largemouth and a few sizable cats. It’s a nice area but we were limited by only shore fishing past few years. I

I have put my pontoon boat at Leesville this past April. It is a beautiful lake and the marina is terrific. We caught some crappie and saw guys come in with bucket full of crappie. One guy and his wife had 70. I actuall helped him count them. All were in the 8 to 11 inch size. I have to learn the tricks!😊. We have caught a couple 3 pound large mouth and a few 1 to 2 pounders thru the summer. I’m learning the spots and some tricks used by guys that have been there for years and years. It’s teaching an old dog new tricks. 😁. Quite a change from fishing Lake Erie for 50 years. Where do you spend your time fishing?

Sounds like you have experience with you boat and motor with some not so calm seas. There is some great fishing to be had on Lake Erie within a couple miles of shore. It may be perch or white bass or smallies but it’s a lot of fun. One thing to keep in mind, there is a walleye night bite that over the years I have fished. Having your 14 ft boat and trolling the riprap has proven very successful. You’re not more than 50 to 500 feet from shore and I have fished the night bite all the way into December. The times vary from 7 Pm up to 2 AM. Talk to Shines bait shop on E 55 st. They always gave me good information on where and when the walleye turned on at night. Just something for you to research and consider. I can provide much more details if you’re interested. It is a great experience catching some 8 and 10 pound walleye off your boat in the dark.
