Worked a 13 hour day in a hot ass factory , tryin like hell to make a ship commit on Tuesday on the one of very few machines that intimidate me.
That’s another story , but I hate this SOB.
Well I’m outside hotel room drinking a PBR and smokin a Lucky and this dude rolls up on me on a 10 speed.
Brief conversation , can tell this guy needs some mental health help. Probly benefit greatly from it and society would be better for it.
I offered him a beer.
Went and got one and of course strapped on my piece.
Never know.
This dude lives in a tent with a blind buddy in a tree line between my hotel and interstate 70.
He just got back from Makin the rounds at local restaraunts gathering food they were fixin to throw out.
Dude was cool enough.
Never let him get out of my line of sight , but turned out cool.

Seems we need to focus more on mental health issues as a society.
There are millions of people like this dude.
Lots much much worse.
In a lot of cases. We have access to social media activity or arrest records that should be obvious , these people need checked out.
Treated as applicable.

Something to think about.

Excellent question.
And I have been studying this for years.
Early spawn, they are east to catch and slit of fun
Post spawn and especially heat of summer. They move off shore and hang off break lines of submerged cover in deep water.
They seem to form large schools and don’t move around much
I have seen massive schools hovering around a single branch . In depths up to 45 feet.
They are so thick, you can feel your jig bounce off of then on the drop.
My favorite technique is to find em with electronics. Drop a marker bouy on em. Spot lock and drop a 5/8 oz Rapala jiggin rap on em.
Simple lift drop vertical jigging.
90% of the time they eat it on the fall.
Stay on em until the quit or move.
Then go find em again.

And that young man in Indianapolis…
He should never have to buy a beer ever in his lifetime.

And yes. Everyone is right. Never been in a situation where I was being fired upon.
Been in about every other situation though.

Again , it’s all about getting my confidence to where I need it to be.

That's some fine shooting Ben. Hope to get there with more practice.

A while back I discovered that there's a thing called "eye dominance". After doing some research (you tube)
I found out I was using the wrong eye to aim. After some adjustment and training, my accuracy improved approx 50%. Still need to spend more time on the range.

So, do you use your dominant eye? Some folks say use both eyes. What are your thoughts?

I was trained to use both eyes.
It’s more a timing thing. Soon as the target point crosses your focal point. Send it.
Aiming takes a lot of time.

Keep up the ‘Dead Eye’ there Ben! With my botched eye surgery I have not been to the range or anyplace to shoot in over a year. One of these day I hope to get back to it.

Good advice there rip, whole different ballgame when being shot at or an actual knife wheeling bad guy zig zagging their way towards you.

Yea I trained for that.
Paper never hurt anyone.
I can’t find any volunteers to rush me and the range won’t allow the turn the back thing.
They won’t even allow draw from the holster.
There are signs that say no rapid fire , but the range official hasn’t said anything to me. So I’m gonna keep doing it.

Ben... is that with a pistol? Mad respect if so. I'm lights out with my shotgun and my 270 but I can't hit a soda can at 20ft with my pistols! Lol

Yea both 9 mils at 7 yards.
My 45 is devistating.
Back in the day , in training , if I had a group looked like that, I’d still be doing push ups!
We used to run the obstical course every day.

Went to the range the other day.
Trying to get my confidence level back, so I know for a fact, that god forbid . It ever becomes necessary to defend myself or others. I can get it done and not shoot an innocent.
The first photo is 5 8 round mags fired in rapid succession.
The second photo is 5 17 round mags triple tap . 2 to chest and one to head. Also rapid succession. Drop mag , slap in another and keep sending them.
The ones to the neck, I realized I had another mag in my bag and was running out of chest and head , so I sent em to the neck

I know I’m a little off center . The whole point of going was to make a fine sight adjustment, but I left my tool bag at home.

It is important that if you carry, ya gotta be very confident . Very confident. If you are not? Well that side arm makes you just as dangerous as the threat you are trying to terminate. Serious business.

Put off a trip to the lake yesterday. Beautiful day. Plan was for son to bring grandson down today and we would go to the lake and I’d put the boys on em.
That turned out to be a bad decision because it’s raining all day here and hour and a half away it’s raining so hard , son turned around and went back home. Driving was hazardous.

Friends from back home 2 1/2 hours away are reporting biblical type rain.

Man, I’m missing so many opportunities to be on the water.
