Live in a small Connecticut town, where there are seldom any lines @ Town Clerk's office. CT license is free for seniors, just pay for trout "stamp" . My town's employees are really nice so far in my experience, I don't go in to Clerk, Tax assessor, Water dept, etc. , with an attitude, because even if I have a dispute, THEY are not responsible for it.
The one advantage to the alternative method of online renewal is if ya lose your copy of license its easy to get a replacement online, or store a copy in your computer or phone initially. Me, I'd just pop into Town Hall again.
