Anyone have the Pflueger President XT reel? The plain Pflueger President Reel is $59.99 and the XT is $79.99 was wondering what you get for $20.00 more. I have the plain Pflueger and love it, need other reel (really Betty) and been looking at the XT

I Just tried out my new President. Decided against the XT. I'm happy with my reel.

Couple of friends and I made our first trip of the year looking for Salmon. Lake Michigan fishing the North Shore just off Milwaukee. Didn't do bad. Put 8 fish in the box. 5 Rainbows, 2 Coho al in the 5 to 6 pound range and a King. The king ran 27 pounds. Had another 5 that managed long distance release... Get-em next trip!

Congrats on your catch! You had a great day.

Took granddaughter out to local lake today
Winds 15 mph sustained. Not ideal but manageable.
Went to first spot I thought post spawn crappie would be. 8 boats on my spot. Lots of guys trolling.
Didn’t want to spot lock in guys trolling paths so we moved from secondary spot.
Estimated 400 boats on lake today plus jet skis.
Some of these boats are big 30+ footers.
They had the lake chopped to hell and back.
On way to secondary spot , I’m at speed. Not wide open but about 35 mph.
Had a 35 ft pleasure craft doing about 50 and a big ski boat cross my path in opposite directions.
Wakes merged and I saw that it would likely be hairy.
Adjusted course for head on and slowed to about 20 mph
Crested first wake way bow high , when it settled in the trough. . Second wave was waiting to eat my lunch.
Speared that wave full on. Went sub surface . Boat ate it it from bow to stern. About 10 inches of water in cockpit.
Granddaughter , bless her heart is grabbing her stuff , mu stuff like crazy moving to higher ground.
Told her “ sweetie , we are sinking”
Put bilge on manual
Limped back to closest ramp and tied off to let bilge pump do it’s job.
Some dick asked me to move so he could launch his half million. Dollar boat.
Told him to F off. I’m not moving till my pumps clear the load so I wouldn’t sink.
Bilges did their job and back in business.
Tried to go to third spot but water so rough my 80 pound thrust TM couldn’t keep pace
So rough

Glad you and your granddaughter are ok, Ben. Now that I'm retired I try to avoid being on the water when the nuts are out.

Lynnys dad said the same thing. He was wounded and saw his buddy get blown up.
Many thanks to all the guys that had to go through that.

Dad made it through there okay but was injured in the battle of the bulge. His buddy next to him was killed.

My daughters kids are old enough to get decent fishing combos to use.
My spinning combos are still a little cumbersome for them
I picked up a couple of Zebco 33 custom Z spin cast combos for them
Gotta say. First impression is positive.
Tossed one around the yard for a bit and seemed to be pretty solid.
For $40 I think this will be a great beginner outfit
Also picked up a tackle box with a few basic things.
Takin 12 year old granddaughter out tomorrow.
Been a while since I fished this lake so I’m clueless on what the crappie are doing. Most likely , post spawn.
Had hard rain couple days this week.
If it’s not muddy , we’ll find em

My wife used a Zebco 33 for years. Always worked well. It's a good value for the money.

Hey y'all...I live in Charleston,SC and was thinking of getting a kayak to fish from. Lots of great tidal creeks. All saltwater. Tide change up to 6 feet. Any suggestions?

If I ever buy a kayak I think it will be a Hobie. Having said that, Bonified is a very good brand made near you in North Carolina. Whatever you buy, try to demo one if the dealer does that.

Lynny’s dad hit the beaches on Day. She went with him to see Private Ryan several years ago and said it’s the only time she saw him cry. Thanks and RIP Dad.

My dad went ashore then as a rifleman. He said scenes in that movie were very real. Especially the machine gun fire hitting the guys coming off the landing craft. Very moving.

In the future, I will restrain myself from inserting sarcastic posts in reply to the outrageously ludicrous "FS Digest" posts.
Now that Admin came clean with where they come from (even revealed the formula for coming up with a fake name for the supposed "poster"....kudos for the honesty, Admin), I read them for the humor. Nowhere near as funny as Ronniejw or some of ghaynes quips and jokes, but humorous, nonetheless.
The one asking "how to catch fish without using a hook... because they're so cruel", a couple of months ago, was near the top of the list of "winners" I have found. I previously had thought we were being 'trolled' by a PETA activist, now we know it was only Admin exercising their prerogative....so be it....at least we're finally aware of why we could never get the "poster" to respond to one of our inquiries of a specific, revealing our desire to make our advice be relevant. Obviously that was an exercise in futility, on our part.
I'll just pass on the "FS DIGEST" posts from now on.....much like I do the bassaholic posts...lol !

I missed where admin came clean about fake posts and the signed names. Did he send you a personal message FixorFish? Or is it under another topic?

Typical d.s. "FS Digest" poke. "How do I know if it's clear or not ?"..... Do you open your eyes ? Do you have ANY common sense, whatsoever ?
If you are so stupid that you don't know what constitutes clear vs. muddy, you have WAAAAY more to work on than your fishing skills.

PLEASE NOTE.......If this were actually a real person, my reply would be quite perturbing, wouldn't it ? "FS Digest" is a bogus post...... ALWAYS.
I do wish that Admin would trust the 40k+ members to offer REAL questions or comments to fill the daily stage, apparently they feel the need to "urge" with laughable inquiries...... whatever......but it should be noted that I find it highly insulting to the membership's collective abilities.

Admin.....if you feel the need to make up all these bogus posts.....HOW COME I HAVE TO GO TO "NEWEST", CLICK ON "UNREAD ONLY"......AND RARELY FIND LESS THAN 3 DOZEN TOPICS, NOT YET POSTED TO THE "MAIN PAGE" ?
It's your baby, but I find your "policy/protocol/practice" absolutely silly, and probably a waste of YOUR time, not to mention that of the members who mistakenly believe they are "helping a friend" by posting answers, asking questions that will never get a reply, etc....... you are breeding contempt, imo....... mine, for damn sure.

FixorFish, it seems that many of us in the forum are not at your level of fishing sophistication. Your answer was somewhat less than helpful to the original message. Maybe you should consider starting your own forum for advanced fishermen who are as smart as you are.

What's your opinion on fishing the same location back-to-back evenings (or day) using the same bait?

Today was good day using a swim bait. I don't have much going on tomorrow so I'm thinking of revisiting the same location with the same setup. Are bass keen enough to begin to understand that forage-that-looks-like-swimbait = bad?

I would certainly try the same approach but if the fish don't agree be ready to try something different.
