Hello, my nephew over here in Illinois, he catches àlot of flatheads on suckers& small drum. Chicken liver is dynamite here,especially when water is warm.the old man ust to sour shrimp in milk. I tried that berkley artificial liver,you get bites,seems like they chew flavor out of it in a half hour and drop it- ken

Buzzbait,I fish them over the top of suspended weed beds,fantastic gravel pit lure ( Pike& large mouth bass) that picture brings back memories. ( Thank you- Ken)
Short usually ,round like a bluegill. Over here in Illinois they're usually dark grey or almost black. I seen a guy years ago catch one that was 13 or14 inches long,don't know what it would weigh. Most of the time they're 6 to 10 inches long. They tear up flies,I catch them on wooly buggers,after awhile no hair is on them- ken
