There is a good article I read the other day describing the life cycles of cicadas. There are some that come out every couple of years and others that come out at 13 year and 17 year intervals. The cycle varies so that predator populations don’t evolve to match the ‘ hatch’.
Think I saw the article online.

Why not ?
If you can catch one alive and get a hook on it without killing it, it’ll probably catch a world record Bass!!😃

You'll probably catch a bird. They fly real good. When we were kids we would tie a string and fly them like a kite. Boy does that go way back. HA HA.

We used to call them 17 year locusts. They're not. Locusts are like grasshoppers kinda.

Hi Mr. Mike,

On the year that the come they are millions of them they make a sound by rubbing their wings together and it’s very loud. They cycle out in around three weeks and won’t have another one for another 17 years.
