It depends on how the canal work goes. The woman that takes care of Diamond Valley said maybe 2 weeks but wasn't sure.
I hated to see Diamond Valley drop 4 plus ft in a week during the spawn. But the water companies really don't care about the fish

I've also had to do some surgery just like you.
The worst was when my wife hooked me in the back with a 6 inch rapala.
Had to cut my tshirt off and tough it out
I still wear the scar.
