Unlike most of the country where the fish are pre-spawn or spawning. they are not here in So.Cal. No fish on beds just yet. Went to try DVL today and managed a few fish, all caught on drop shot. Got to the lake and tried all the normal prespawn techniques to no avail. Finally decided to try a drop shot at about 10:30am and caught one on the first cast. Caught a few more and then hooked a nice one around noon. Would have probably caught a lot more if I started with a drop shot earlier. Oh well, my season has started, and I am a happy camper!!
Nice little 4.6 to start my year!!

Well that's a nice start OBG
That's a nice fish for sure. We saw you at the lake today. Right ss you were leaving. We talked for a bit and then you headed in.
I caught a good one also.

Wish I had known it was you, we could have chatted for awhile longer. Did you have three people in your boat?
Yes my wife Pam and friend Eric
Wish I had known so I could have spent a little more time chatting. Where you saw me was not too far from where I caught the big one.

Nice catch! What were you using for the drop shot?

Caught the big one on a Yamamoto 5" Thin Grn Pumpkin worm. Couple were caught on the same but Natural Shad color. All wacky rigged. Good Luck
