Unlike most of the country where the fish are pre-spawn or spawning. they are not here in So.Cal. No fish on beds just yet. Went to try DVL today and managed a few fish, all caught on drop shot. Got to the lake and tried all the normal prespawn techniques to no avail. Finally decided to try a drop shot at about 10:30am and caught one on the first cast. Caught a few more and then hooked a nice one around noon. Would have probably caught a lot more if I started with a drop shot earlier. Oh well, my season has started, and I am a happy camper!!

There you go Garey! I’m still waiting on parts and working on my boat, I don’t even know if the halibut bite is on or not.

Thx Denny. If you build it (or repair it), they will come. Always fun catching Halibut, not much fight until they see the "Boat". Having a little problem with my boat also. Sure wish I had learned more about mechanics instead of baseball growing up...............Nah!
