Did pretty well at Bunch a month ago. The PH was off at Tunnel and River and algae was kicking in, so Bunch received a heavy stocking. But that was many moons ago.
The West Branch stocking area was a circus but there were fish on stringers.
Looked at Sunrise but the wind was howling so we didn’t fish. The lake had plenty of water.
A couple of days ago this was posted in an Ashurst post about Lake Mary:
“ Fished upper lake Mary too and it was good. Pike and crappie mostly.”
Seems I’ve heard this before.
Lake Mary is right in your back yard.
Very nice!
I’m going to be up there in 11 days. Can’t wait.
DrDarin, best of luck in Alaska. Spent a couple of working summers and bow hunts up there. The fly fishing was phenomenal.
Make sure you carry
100% DEET with you. It can make or break your experience.
Big Lake is a trout lake in the White Mountains of AZ near Greer.
Especially if the Kennedys be consumin’. 🙄
Awesome!
Hope they’ll be jumpin’ on my flies in a couple of weeks.
Does anyone know if there are still brookies to be found in the Greer area? There used to be lots around but I can no longer find any data.
Perhaps the Little Colorado or Sunrise?
Very interesting, nopcog. As often as I have fished Greer I’ve never wet a line in the creek.
By chance does it hold brookies?
Thanks Kenrudisill,
Great update. Really looking forward to getting up there and showing them some flies.
I’m going in four weeks.
Hope the answers are good.
Hey Jer,
I think that ‘Gill may be. Green Sunfish.

Thanks Drfishing.
Can’t wait to get up there.
