Hey Wally the human factor kicked in. I bet you will be getting some other stories as well. Mine was I was a mile away from the house in my kayak sitting over 20' somewhat choppy water. Then I realized I left my life vest at home. Not good, a little late start on fishing that day. LOL got to laugh at ourselves sometimes.

plumbob

Good point plumbobo glad your story turn out being a laughing matter.

So did you try top water fishing at 5:30am ? Not that it would have been any different but they like to feed from the overnights deposit of bugs on top of the water first thing in the morning.

plumbob

Yes I did that's where i caught the five or six small blue gills. Thanks plumbobo.

Too late for tomorrow but I invested in a pair of rain pants (gortex breathable black color) , rain jacket and rubber boots. Stay nice and dry in the rain . Rains chases most of your completion away and the fish still bite maybe even more so. Thunderstorms are a different issue though . All of my rods are carbon fiber which is a super conductor of electricity. Thunderstorm hits, I quit and head for the SUV
