I agree with Traveler 27 completely. Onenight me and a friend got caught in a heavy downpour. He was all eager to head for the car about a mile away. I convinced him that we were gonna be drenched no matter what we did so, we fished on for about 2-3 hours. It turned out to be the best fishing day we ever had. In that time we must have landed. 6-8 large mouth bass over 3 lbs. apiece. Turns out that rain is one of the best times to fish. With all the food washing into the water they stayed near the shore. So, give it a try and make sure you bring rain suits or you'll get drenched like we did. Good luck and let us know how it goes. Mike

Too late for tomorrow but I invested in a pair of rain pants (gortex breathable black color) , rain jacket and rubber boots. Stay nice and dry in the rain . Rains chases most of your completion away and the fish still bite maybe even more so. Thunderstorms are a different issue though . All of my rods are carbon fiber which is a super conductor of electricity. Thunderstorm hits, I quit and head for the SUV

Mine are Cabela’s bought before they became one. I sure bass pro has some as well. They were around 100 bucks. Comfy and I don’t sweat in them. Your bass pro loyalty card gets you points at Cabelas as well. Fit easily over your pants and boots. You don’t need the super expensive ones for stormy days on a boat . Rubber boots from tractor supply. Walmart has them as well, but tractor supply are better quality and a little wider. Rain jacket is nothin special. It is a Columbia I bought at either Dicks or EMS

Hey guys, I love Bass pro shops and carbl
Cabela's as much as the next guy but, if you are fishing while standing, a $1.50 poncho will get you through it unless you are in a gail. The will fit in any pocket or box and when you get done, just throw them away. In a garbage can, please. I hate litter more than most things. When I fish, one of the things that I really love is a clean shore line and especially the water. I usually carry a spare garbage bag on my boat to pick up any that I see. It makes me feel good. Thanks for your time, Mike

Best time to fish is during a storm.

Hey Wally, go for it. Just got back from a drizzly day on the water and top water fishing was a blast. Our limit on trout was met and managed to be picky on what to keep and what to put back. Tight lines buddy.
