I'll be waiting on the report and photos
Photos may be awhile so don't hold your breath - I had planned to hit
Silver Creek this week, but truck repairs (A/C control switch/will NOT go through another summer here without my A/C running in top condition) ate my budget - plan
on going eventually, but probably
not soon !
WILL be going to the 'Rim' lakes
soon, though, so some trout photos
may occur in the not-too-distant
future !
(I can't stand not being able
to go trout fishing - I'd like to tie
Biden to my bumper hitch with
a 50-ft. water-ski rope and d**g
him through the cactus !)

You’ll return n all your glory ine of these days - until then bask in the sunshine!
Yeah, whenever they decide
it's been long enough ! In the
meantime I will do just that -
bask in the sunshine ! Some
of our nicest ('Goldilocks')
weather is usually between
mid-February to mid-April
and between late-September
to early-November, so as soon
as I can manage it, I'll be hitting
the north country for trout !
Will be posting photos
when/if we're successful !
No clue ! Not about to anyone's
butt to get back on, either !
Would really love a face-to-face
with him, though !
Hi, Ivey ! Wish I could have posted
this where it belongs, but oh, well !
Your grandson looks like a hand-
some boy - I know what that smile
on him means - he's taking after his grand-pa ! That look of bliss and contentment means he's already dreaming of hauling in those big
ol' bronzebacks fishing with his grandfather ! I had a very special
bond with mine - I hope you find
the same bond with him !
Congratulations, grand-pa !

I grew up in that climate. I moved. Happy Happy Happy. Evaporative Coolers work best for the money. Glad I left. I really don’t get the attraction. If when retired can go anywhere. It use to be cheap was the only attraction.
Grandparents had a place in Tempe for Winter to avoid the snow in Minnesota.
You were saying wrap up in layers … many leave for winter.
Yeah - those who could afford to do so ! Until my retirement, I couldn't ! Just really happy to get away from snow, ice and frigid weather - I'll take four months of heat over long, cold, miserable winters every time !
If I ever get desperate enough to see any of it again, it's just a short drive north to snow country ! Bye-bye, winter blues (and blahs) ! Also, body aches and pains are less frequent
and less severe - I feel so much
more spry/sprightly since moving
to a better, warmer climate !
Yep ! It DOES get toasty ! Still beats New England winters by a country mile, though ! At least out here
I don't have to bundle up with five
or six layers to go out in winter -
I'm in T-shirt and shorts about
98% of the time, all year long !
Some like it hot , but Phoenix
often carries that to extremes,
hence the photo ! If you're
considering a move to Arizona,
keep in mind that the summer
heat between mid-June to mid-September can be brutal !
Lake Havasu recorded the highest temp ever recorded in Arizona in
1994 - a scorching 128° !
Phoenix high temp records
include the following -
118° - 1950/'58/'89/
'06/'11/'16/'17
119° - 2013/2017
120° - 1990
121° - 1995
122° - 1990 (4 days after
the 120° temp)
Incidentally - it usually IS a dry heat, but during the monsoon season, it
can smell/feel like a steamy sauna, with temps topping 115° and
humidity approaching 50% !
Probably, but it's been awhile and we've acquired some 'newbies'
since then !
Ralph was an avid fisherman who
didn't really LIE, per se, but was one
to greatly augment (or stretch) the t***h regarding the size or quantity
of his catch on any (and every)
given day - when it came to 'tall
tales/fish stories' he was practically
unbeatable !
One day he's out by himself, slips
in the boat, cracks his head and drowns ! Next thing he knows, he's facing St.Peter at the Gates, who's astounded to see him there !
"Ralph ? What are you doing here ?
You know there's no way I can let
you in here with the lies/stories
you've told, right ?"
Really ? You can't cut me some
slack ? I thought that if anyone understood, it would be you !
After all, you were once a fisherman, too !"

You need reservations? Wonder what the wait time is?
Don't know if you NEED reservations
'downstairs', but I just may have EARNED mine !

You probably won't get in down there either, for fear you'll take over. 👿
You just might be right about that !
Ol' Forktail won't be happy to see
me, as I plan on making upgrades/ improvements when I get there
(A/C/water-coolers/HUGE fans) !
If I get denied entry there, then
there's only two places left I can
go - Purgatory (if you're raised Catholic) which is only temporary,
or 'Upstairs' (after or instead of) ! Either way, it may be awhile before
St. Peter greets me at the 'Pearly Gates' !

Neither ! He/she is an IT !

No problem, Fix. No one gets d**gged into heaven kicking and screaming. You probably wouldn't like it there, anyway.
Seriously ? Do you actually think
they would let him in ? With my
past/attitude/language, I probably have confirmed reservations 'downstairs', so when he gets
there I'll be watching and waiting,
and finally get a face-to-face confrontation ! With his 'ass-holier
than thou' attitude, I have no doubt
we will meet on the 'other side' !
Little Tommy just passed his fifth
birthday, and he is now just tall enough to stand and pee like a man !
While he's standing there doing his 'business', a large passing truck shakes the house a bit and causes
the toilet seat and cover to fall - he howls in pain and starts screaming bloody murder ! His mother rushes
in to see what's happened, and Tommy tells her - bawling the whole time !
"I know it hurts, honey, but what do you want me to do about it ?"
"Kiss it and make it better !"
Well, damn ! If you ain't getting
to be more and more like your
father every day !"
