We finally got us some rain yesterday,
Was needed, we're really dry here.
The thick fog was calling for me to go play,
My sweet wife concurred, what a dear.
Was slow right at first, conditions were great,
I just knew topwater would work,
I threw it, and wormed, and slung a crankbait,
Then finally I felt a light jerk.
Since nothing was working, I threw what I love,
That big noisy Hoodler that's brown.
The fog lifted later with clear skies above,
But I didn't put my rod down.
I snagged a Kentucky, a nice Blackie, too.
Both keepers, that put up a fight.
Then suddenly there was a hullabaloo,
I rared back and set the hook right.
It felt like forever, that big'n fought me,
She jumped up 2 feet in the air.
She shook her head twice, was not meant to be,
Came loose, but I didn't care.
It's great when the hawgs hit a topwater lure,
And when they do, boy, I feel blessed.
I'm happy with any size bass, for sure.
That's obvious, you should've guessed.
We finally got us some rain yesterday, br Was need... (
