arry was travelling down a country road in his native Yorkshire, England when he saw a large group of people outside a farmhouse.Favourite mother-in-law joke It was a cold January afternoon, so he stopped and asked Farmer Giles why such a large crowd of men was gathered there. The farmer replied, 'Eddie's donkey kicked his mother-in-law and she died.' 'Well,' replied the man, 'She must have had a lot of friends.' 'Nope,' said Giles.' We all just want to buy his donkey.'

----------------------------------------

My mother-in-law caused an argument in a pub and half a dozen men set upon her and dragged her to the floor, screaming. The barman turned to Les and asked "Aren't you going to help?" "Nah!" says Les, "Six should be enough!"

I reluctantly decided a neighbor would be a good fishing “buddy”. He had seen me multiple times bring home fish and would smell my grill and smoker in the backyard. We headed to Dexter Lake as a trial run to see if he would be enjoyable for future endeavors. After an hour of him trying to grab my rod I knew the only fish he was after was trouser trout. Loved the trip was an experience I will never forget. Can be a pain in the butt getting a big one!

Leroy, you mean the other rod only your wife/girlfriend would see?

When ive caught Bonito ,was taught to bleed them and put them on ice as quickly as possible, makes excellent Ceviche.

Jar, heard that also to bleed immediately after catching. Love Ceviche. Good points.

I had a nearby fishing hole I discovered in a small local creek that held a variety of different species of fish. I took a friend there & we both caught a bunch of fish.
I went there again by myself on Friday evening & thought I had a bite on my first cast. It was very heavy on my ultralight rig. Ithought maybe I had a turtle until I could see it was bright white. When I got it on shore I was shocked to see it was what appeared to be a brand new pair of white boxer shorts. Odd, I thought, until I went to unhook them and realized they were FULL of crap. It was super gross & I was shocked someone would do that.
On Monday, back at school, my fishing buddy asked about my weekend & I told him "you're not going to believe what I caught in the creek". When I told him what I caught, he laughed uncontrollably & told me that he took his friend to my fishing hole that I shared with him. His friend got sick, threw up & crapped his pants there & threw his soiled new boxers in the creek, which I caught a few hours later. G R O S S.

Holy cow Scott. What a weird story you can share with your grandkids.

Hard to beat fresh caught crappies, walleyes, bluegills and perch out of clean water. I have had some great Northern Pike filets in a restaurant, too, but I did not catch them so they can’t be counted.
I have not caught and eaten any saltwater fish, so the halibut and grouper I love don’t count, either.
I live in the land of fish frys, so I can get walleyes, gills and perch twice a week (if I choose). I have yet to see crappies on a menu.

OJ, had pike in a restaurant also. Excellent!

In salt water I’ll take sea bass, if I had ever caught a haddock that would be my #1 pick. Freshwater, definitely crappies and gills. I think walleye are over rated but don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy them.

Bk, I have to agree on the sea bass. Did not catch it but store bought Chilean sea bass was very good. Looked it up it is a Antarctic or Patagonian toothfish.

I love scorpionfish or (sculpin) called in S. California really tastes like a poor mans lobster if grilled and dipped in warmed butter. Very meaty and dense meat and a hint of sweetness like lobster.

We like Halibut. However, we also eat a lot more Striper than Halibut because we catch them all the time. They are fabulous, especially when fresh.

Saw, fresh halibut and striped bass is hard to beat.

For simplicity and cost I pack Frog Toggs with rain jacket and pants all fit into a very small bag fits into your backpack easily. They are lightweight, cheap and durable and come in various colors if you need to be visible for emergencies. Fits over your current heavy jacket and pants if it rains suddenly so no need to take off your current clothes if it is cold.

I think the best tasting fish I've eaten is fresh king salmon out of San Francisco harbor and yellowtail in Cornado islands. Worst tasting fish was eating a Columbia river salmon which tasted like mud.
