I think the best tasting fish I've eaten is fresh king salmon out of San Francisco harbor and yellowtail in Cornado islands. Worst tasting fish was eating a Columbia river salmon which tasted like mud.

We like Halibut. However, we also eat a lot more Striper than Halibut because we catch them all the time. They are fabulous, especially when fresh.

Saw, fresh halibut and striped bass is hard to beat.

I love scorpionfish or (sculpin) called in S. California really tastes like a poor mans lobster if grilled and dipped in warmed butter. Very meaty and dense meat and a hint of sweetness like lobster.

I don't like the taste of fish and I like those 2 . Don't care for trout or salmon very much. Don't mind catchin them though.

Ling cod. Delicious.
I do not like mackerel. Tastes like catfish bait - because I used to use it for that all the time.

Hard to beat fresh caught crappies, walleyes, bluegills and perch out of clean water. I have had some great Northern Pike filets in a restaurant, too, but I did not catch them so they can’t be counted.
I have not caught and eaten any saltwater fish, so the halibut and grouper I love don’t count, either.
I live in the land of fish frys, so I can get walleyes, gills and perch twice a week (if I choose). I have yet to see crappies on a menu.

In salt water I’ll take sea bass, if I had ever caught a haddock that would be my #1 pick. Freshwater, definitely crappies and gills. I think walleye are over rated but don’t get me wrong, I do enjoy them.

My favorite would have to be triggerfishin salt water, with flounder seabass and striper coming in real close. The worst fish I ever ate was Boston mackerel. Oily , 10 times worse than bluefish. Great for bait though.

Best tasting fish I've ever eaten is walleye, I wish I lived in a place where there were more of them to catch. The worst has to be Carp. I have a very strong dislike for cats and I wouldn't even feed Carp to cats.......just sayin'
