here's one of three I have so far located. My finger is touching the leaf so you can see the scale. It's less than a 1/4 inch
If the pics came through the first is a patch of milk weed in the garden and the second is a pic of the 1/3 acre short grass prairie we're creating specifically for Monarchs and other pollinators.Have only seen a few Monarchs but we still have time.
Keep up the good work!
Do ya think that with the water being that warm and clear that they were deep and in the shade?
Catchin's lots better than not. Nice job. Sounds like stock up time. Amazon, Scheels, Tackle Warehouse and others have 5" Yum Dinger bulk 100 paks for $26.29 that should keep the pan fish busy for awhile.
Very Nice Family Memories!
Sooo Yamamoto Baits was sold to GSM Outdoors in 2021. GSM has a group of outdoor companies largely in the shooting sports. Looking at the Yamamoto catalog shows 122 colors available for 5" Senkos. And there are some either not currently in production or discontinued because I did not find Peanut Butter and Jelly on the list. I think that color was productive for us because it resembles crawdads. Now I'll look try some green pumpkin/copper/orange color.
Sight fishing is great fun. Nice job.
While on vacation we caught a limit of LMB and SMB every day, mostly fishing Wacky Rigs. Yamamoto Senkos and Berkley Generals. The most productive colors were Baby Bass, June Bug, Watermelon Magic and Peanut Butter and Jelly in Senkos and Green Pumpkin and June Bug in the Berkleys.
What colors have you done the best with?
Gotta love a success story. Very Nice!
Very Nice! Crappies eat so well, sooo goood. What'd ya use for bait?
Outdoors has always been a priority in our parenting. Daughter #1 is a forester for the DNR and daughter #2 is in her last year of college to become a forester. She also fishes in sturgeon tournaments and has a personal best 23" smallie. So not just because we make em do it. Really proud parents.
Congratulations on #1 and #2. There's a Cabelas in Richfield and Youtube is your friend. Good Luck!
Thanks Everybody! It was a great trip two pair of eagles and loons with babies singing from morning til night. We caught fish or at least had a bite on darn near every cast. Until this year it was ILLEGAL to keep smaller bass even though that's what the locals recommended. Yep Bassmatter that smallie was exactly 18".
Yep, that's true. The locals have been trying to get the DNR to remove the limit for years. They simply want to reduce the population. We did catch a few 15 and 16 inchers. Stomachs gave up crayfish and perch. The bluegills and perch are small. My wife loves crappie fishing and caught just as many bass as crappies on the Atomic Twister. We also caught "enough" hammer handle pike. It's a Class A Musky water and it used to be a great walleye lake but now they seem far and few apart.
Went on the fam vacay to a lake not far from the Wi. Mi.border. Wi. Has a 14” limit on bass in these waters. But the lake is overrun with LMBass. Been going there for 6 years and have experienced the bass growing from 9-10” to last year when they were 13-14”. Well this year the DNR took the size limit off of this lake so we kept some to eat.We release all the Smallies. It's a clear water lake and the bass taste as good as the panfish. Like usual my daughters outfished me. I guess I taught them well.
