Great day Mr. Langer! Hope to see you out there someday..

Sounds good, and watching the news tonight I think I'll be taking a few days off as that kayak will be blowing around in 55 mph wind in the next 2 days wow!

A great day on Wednesday, quite windy putting the kayak in at Site 6 on Havasu Island but headed north and ran into a school of stripers. The action lasted about 20 minutes and I caught five or six, sometimes hitting it as fast as the crankbait landed. On each catch the wind would blow me 200 yd out to sea as I was getting the fish in and unhooking him.
So it was a lot of work paddling back and forth to stay in my spot and not getting blown across the lake.
I headed over into some reeds and casted the same square bill in the shallow water and ended up picking up three largemouth bass. It's good to see they've moved shallow and are hungry.
So a great morning and I tried again yesterday and also again today in the same spots with the same lures and got skunked both days! I guess that's fishing.

Hi guys I'm thinking seriously about buying a fishing kayak have researched alot but I would like real users input so please tell what kinda kayak you have. And what you improve on it? All answers greatly appreciated!!

Hey Roy, I'll give you my personal advice, I retired 2 years ago and I've spent well over a thousand hours bass fishing out of a sit on top kayak. I started with a real basic yak, a Lifetime fishing model at $300. It fit in my van just fine at 10 ft long bought my wife one also and we've enjoyed them immensely and caught a lot of fish.
At a little over 50 lb, easy to handle but I wanted to upgrade so in July I bought a Feel Good Moken 10 here locally for $900 and I'm unhappy with it. While it's stable and seems to keep me on the water safer, when the little wind comes up it's all over the place, it doesn't track straight and the dealer told me I should buy a $250 rudder to go with it which I won't do. A good chance it goes up for sale in the Spring.
To get started the Lifetime model you can't beat.

I found a spot along the river in Parker this morning and threw out some frozen bluegill chunks. Caught 3 flatheads biggest one 10 lbs and a 5 lb bass. Great morning on the river

Wow that sounds like fun I put my kayak in at Site 6 this morning and hooked into a smallmouth but lost him right at the boat, other than that not much action on a beautiful day.

It's been a funny week with nothing but Stripers all week long until this morning. I was throwing my Ozark Trails lime blue crankbait and got a hit from this pound and a quarter Largemouth in the reeds. The lake has been very cloudy with a large algae outbreak on the surface so difficult to fish but the striper fishing has been good all week up until today.
Looking at the photo it looks like I've got a flamethrower attached to my rod tip! Strong AZ sun!

I saw the murky water there also. I think Alamo lake is releasing water.

I actually put my kayak in at Bill Williams River and paddled all the way around the peninsula before I decided I'd never be able to catch anything so went back and put the kayak in and headed for the pond over near Parker, which was a good move.

On Friday I headed down to the South shore of Havasu and it was very muddied up around the Bill Williams River area. So I ended up going over past the Colorado River and stopped at a small bass pond that I been to in the past. Usually catch two or three large mouth as I throw my kayak in and troll a square bill and then stop and do some casting. The largemouth seem to be stunted as the small lake gets very little action. I was the only one there yesterday so just about all the large mouth run 11-12 in. But a fun afternoon and you can see the mid 80Β° Arizona sunshine turned to be a beautiful day.

Alright buddy, good for you. That's nice fishin, 18 to 20 in an hour. Love it when it's like that. Congrats. Sorry the big one came unbuttoned though.

Yes, Saw. It was a great day yesterday and so I take my wife out this morning, head to the same area and the same crankbait and went 3 hours without a hit so they all had disappeared. I guess that's fishing. I ended up catching one as we're finishing up about 11:30, but it was a slow frustrating day. But I'm retired and still love being out on the water!
Looked like God was playing tic-tac-toe in the sky!

While it's been slow the last 10 days or so with the lake turning over, all of a sudden yesterday the striper action really picked up. I put in a Site 6 off the island in my kayak headed north into a bay trolling a crankbait and got a hit from a striper. In the next hour probably close to 18-20 fish. So a school of stripers just moves around the bay and I keep paddling trying to find them, cast into them and it was a great action. All around 10-11 a.m. and as I was heading out got a hit trolling from a huge striper maybe up to 10 lb taking line and battling, got him up underneath the boat and he made one last turn of the head and pulled the treble hooks out, so lost him. But a lot of fun and heading back with my wife this morning to see if we can find him again.

That's right he was a smallie but also a skunk buster as I caught him trolling out of Mesquite Bay in the first 5 minutes of the morning on Thursday. Never had a hit the rest of the morning looking for stripers. So yesterday I went out of Site Six in my kayak and had a big hit from a largemouth trolling my Square Bill and got him right up to the boat. He headed south to the weeds, got tangled up and broke off. So again not a hit for the next 3 hours and as I went back to the launch ramp at Site 6 threw a few last casts into the Reeds and picked up this 2# Largemouth, so not a bad day.

Only went out in the kayak a few hours this morning, again launched at Site 6 out on the island and quickly hooked into a very nice striper with my square bill trolling. Caught another two within the next hour and then it kind of shut off. The fish are a bigger size on the west side of the island then I've been finding up at Mesquite Bay. And finally getting some relief that it's only just over 100Β° each day and will be in the 90s next week, sweet!

So now there is the Mystery Havasu Monster fish you never saw. Looks like and sounds like fun. I know why those stripers like Crayfish. They’re good eating.

Hey Jeremy, I knew the smallies love crawdads here in Havasu but I didn't know stripers ate them too! I've got several mystery fish swimming the lake with my worm or crankbait hanging out their mouth.
