Striper action at Havasu

While it's been slow the last 10 days or so with the lake turning over, all of a sudden yesterday the striper action really picked up. I put in a Site 6 off the island in my kayak headed north into a bay trolling a crankbait and got a hit from a striper. In the next hour probably close to 18-20 fish. So a school of stripers just moves around the bay and I keep paddling trying to find them, cast into them and it was a great action. All around 10-11 a.m. and as I was heading out got a hit trolling from a huge striper maybe up to 10 lb taking line and battling, got him up underneath the boat and he made one last turn of the head and pulled the treble hooks out, so lost him. But a lot of fun and heading back with my wife this morning to see if we can find him again.

Nice fish Langer and good catching. With all those fish caught and a larger one almost caught it sounds like an exciting day. Thank you for sharing.

Alright buddy, good for you. That's nice fishin, 18 to 20 in an hour. Love it when it's like that. Congrats. Sorry the big one came unbuttoned though.

Yes, Saw. It was a great day yesterday and so I take my wife out this morning, head to the same area and the same crankbait and went 3 hours without a hit so they all had disappeared. I guess that's fishing. I ended up catching one as we're finishing up about 11:30, but it was a slow frustrating day. But I'm retired and still love being out on the water!
Looked like God was playing tic-tac-toe in the sky!

I have experienced the same thing MANY times.
That's why I always say "IF I CATCH ANY FISH."
Just because you found them 1 day doesn't mean that they will be there the next day or 2 or 3 later.
Sometimes you have some luck and find them somewhere else when they move. Sometimes you look EVERYWHERE you can think of and still can't find any.
Like you said, That's fishin.
I prefer "CATCHIN."
