Early January and later February are usually better than later January or early February.
I know that isn’t a direct answer to the question, but that is my advice.
Congrats - that is an awesome catch!
Awesome mess of beautiful crappies! I bet that was fun and will be good eats!
Thanks for the pics and congratulations!
Nice catch!
Thanks for sharing the photos.
Congrats!
My favorite fishing quote,

This quote is absolutely true … fish when you can, but if you fish in the rain, be prepared for it with good gear, and only as long as it is safe and you are reasonably comfortable!
I bet that was a tremendous fight!
Well, some of the trees are starting to change color in SE Minnesota, and with the falling temps, the crappie bite has been heating up!
I have been lucky to do pretty well the last couple of outings!
I have attached a few pictures of fish as well as one of the turning colors (peak color still weeks away) ... This is the BEST time of the year!
Looks absolutely FANTASTIC!
Thanks for the pictures - looks like a great trip!
I just use Lawry's Seasoned Salt and butter - sometimes add some dill weed!
I LOVE cod!
Enjoy!

Boil in beer 8-10 minutes and then brown on grill!
Everything was mentioned was part of the Mississippi River system - I forgot to mention Lake Winona, which is a very good body of water to kayak fish as well
Working south to north …
Lake Onalaska by LaCrosse
Latch Island area by Winona
Prairie Island by Winona
Verchota Landing by Minnesota City
West Newton north of Minnieska
The backwater landings between Wabasha and Nelson (and Big Lake south of there)
Backwaters between Red Wing and Hager City)
LOTS of good spots - what are you looking to fish for?
