Hello Ivancast. I have no problem getting wet. I do have 3 good rainsuits. One in each boat & 1 in my truck. The problem is I'm highly allergic to lightening. I know some places get afternoon showers but out here we can get some serious bolts of lightening. I have an old habit of getting off the water when it rains. It's worked for 75 years so I'm not going to change that habit. Tight lines.

As long as you dress for it, it's not a problem. I'm getting less tolerant of cold rain, but in the summer it's fine. I'll agree with Coon on one thing, I too am allergic to lightening. LOL. Good luck Ivan.

There you go. Caught some bait, and didn't get fried. That's a good trip.

The fish don't care if it's raining. Just avoid that stuff that goes boom.

Right on Fred. The rainsuits I have in my boats have a fleece lining & really help with a cold rain. Lightening can strike a man from 25 miles. That's too close for me. I think some of the worse lightening I've experienced was in the Colorado mountains. I've seen it lightening & thunder during snow storms in western Oklahoma. I'm sure you've got your share of odd weather in your part of the country. Stay warm Fred.

Well Ivan, I too have rain suits but I CHOOSE to NOT go out if it's rainnin. IF I'm already out fishin and it starts rainnin I'll put my rain suit on and try to fish for awhile to see if it stops. If it doesn't OR it really starts to come down hard, I get off the lake.
There are just too many nice days where I live to bother tryin to fish in the rain. We've been in a drought for SO long that I've not had to worry bout goin fishin in the rain.
If it's rainnin today, I'll just go tomorrow or the next day. But I'm retired and fish 2 to 3 times a week usually.

Thanks Coon. We've had Thundersnow here too, along with Hurricanes, Tornadoes, and Ice storms. None of which are fun.
Sunny and warm is my favorite.

I love fishing in the rain
The fish are already wet so I just try to stay dry for awhile
But it don’t rain here so I don’t remember the last time I got to do that
Just watch for those bolts of lightning
That’s no joke there
Fishing ain’t that important
When it can kill you
you can do another day
With out the extra crispy

As I get older , the less I enjoy getting drenched.
When I was much younger , I’d go for it.
I remember one time riding out a storm in a vacant covered boat slip then going out after storm passed and burning em up!!
I’m old and give out. And seems every time I go , it’s howling and or raining.
Still got a little left in me and got the gear. But when it it ain’t fun , it ain’t fun.

And that's it in a nutshell. I fish because it's FUN. If it's NOT goin to be fun, then I wanna do something else.
Fishin in the rain isn't fun to me. In fact, it can be downright miserable.

I don't try to let rain stop me from going out. Rainsuit and cabin enclosure and I'm good for the day. Heater if it's going to be cold enough. As others have mentioned, lightning is a deal breaker.

Ivan, it's only water, but when it's cold out, or too hot, not the most fun way to spend the day. But every trip fishing you miss can never be replaced, so ya gotta go for it !
