Something to think about when ordering swordfish at a restaurant I always ask is the fish was harpooned our caught on a long line
in the cost line area’s of California the restaurant waitstaff can often find out from the chef
Longline swordfish can often be dead in the water for hours until the commercial boat returns
The harpooned fish will be on board in minutes bleed out and on ice
It really makes a difference

I found nothing as exciting as high dollar off shore Marlin and Mako tournaments
Just google ( Bisbee’s marlin tournament Cabo San Lucas shot gun start )
And Southern California Mako tournaments won a lot of money first place four tournaments
We no longer have Mako Tournaments on the west coast this was back in the late 1990’s nothing like a 180 pound mad Mako at boatside ready to gaff and could be worth $20,000 give or take

A Guzzler is a concrete structure designed to collect rain water it has an opening that wildlife can access for a drink
We had a motion activated camera at one time and somewhere I have a photo of three Chucker (game birds) next to a four foot Diamondback rattlesnake only three feet apart the chucker were all more interested in getting water then the threat of the snake
