Are those the old Zanesville strip mines. I’m from Cleveland and currently live in Canton oh. My dad took me down to Zanesville when they first opened them go fishing. That was sometime around 1960. Sounds like you have a great fishing spot down there. Thank you for sharing that information with us.

This stuff is great. Walmart or Cabelas. It’s sma light color grey. No stains no black dirt and it has worm food in it. Keeps your works smiling all day long. 😀

In addition to Lakeside you might consider giving the wall in Huron a try. Lots of walleye activity right now but, after dark is when its happening. Keep in mind you will see lots of fishermen on the wall. If you get there before dark you have a better chance to secure a good fishing spot. The further out you can go the better the fishing when the walleyes move in. Keep in mind the wall is nearly a mile long. There are some lunkers out there. I have four of them mounted in the 10 pound range. Rattle traps silver and blue have been proven to work very well. be patient, some nights they dont come in until later at night. Always be sure to stick to your limit. The ODNR guys wait at the parking lot in unmarked vehicles and they will count your catch. Also, make a plan on carrying your fish on the one mile walk back to your car 40 or 50 pounds and all your gear is something you need to plan for. (think positive) :) Finally. be sure to take a long handled net depending on where you settle in to fish you could be a ways away from the water. Good luck to you wherever you decide to try. As you look South east from the Huron wall you will see another shorter wall on the other side of the Huron River. This is called Nickle Plate Park, another less crowded option. Tricky to find but GPS may be helpful. Hope this help yu out.

Ok. I look to this site for fishing Data, information, technique's that catch fish and other info like current lake conditions and if it is worth making a 70 Mile drive to be able to get out and fish. This is how I personally use this site. I can’t get this data from someone sharing a great cookie recipe. I’m not saying people shouldn’t use the site for other things I just wonder if it’s prudent to use fishing stage to discuss cookies. To answer your question of course we talk about other things. We are however already there and fishing. Again, from the responses, it all depends what each of us want to get from the site. Thanks for your question. Hope you have a great day!

You might want to have a look at Hinkley Lake. It is in Hinkley, Ohio about 45 minutes from North Canton. If you find your way to the boat rental and bait shop area there is a place very near there with an elevated view of the lake, picnic tables and two piers with steps leading down for fisherman. There are bluegill catfish carp and largemouth to be caught from these piers. Take a camp chair for when you’re fishing on the piers. Good luck!
