Agreed, but the simple fact is that he has not been convicted of the charge of i**********n. If and when he is then the charges will be justified. We still live in a nation where all who are charged are considered innocent until proven guilty, regardless if u are a scumbag or not! If we decide to ignore that right that we all are entitled to then all of our laws are not worth the paper that they are written on! Just my opinion!

To be more accurate, President Donald Trump has NOT even been charged with i**********n, even by that most rabid and legally unqualified Smith.

I could be wrong but I believe that the police radios went to a “trunk” system a long time ago that would that would automatically rotate the transmission and receiving frequencies making it hard to follow them.

Some, maybe most, but not all of them have gone to trunking systems.

In your opinion what would be the best choice for shtf. CB, Wakkis, Hams, scanners, or all of the above
Commander Bell out

That depends upon your mission/intent of use.
If you want to converse with a select group or network, family, friends fellow preppers, FRS, MURS or GMRS (which requires a no test license) would be your best choice. For best results, it requires prearrangement and agreement on "where to meet".
For "outside of your group find out what's going on" communications, CB would be the best choice.

Recently a friend and I were chatting about some of these.
Laugh In, Hee Haw, Smothers Brothers, anything and everything with Tim Conway, Three's Company and even though bad today, Bill Cosby (especially his old LP records, audio only, so your imagination ran wild) and numerous others.

OK, a topic that I actually know something about.
First off, by FCC rules, any and all CB radios are limited to 4 watts at the final amp stages, which is about 5 watts total, some people illegally boost them.
VHF (very high frequency) and UHF (ultra high frequency) are frequency ranges measured in meters, not specific radios in particular. Many different radio types, share the bands, but not the same specific frequencies.
The common plans are CB, FRS, MURS, GMRS and of course Amateur Radio (HAM). Of those the CB is about the shortest range and least reliable, the Amateur Radio being the longest range (with proper setup, skill and patience, you can communicate anywhere in the world), but the most difficult to use unless you just work local repeaters. With a program called EchoLink, you can work linked Amateur Radio repeaters from a cell phone, but must first be licensed.
As well known, the HAM bands require licensing, Tech, General and Extra (NONE of which require Morse Code anymore). Each require testing, the Tech is pretty simple and easy, covers basic band plans and safety (at least that's all it was when I took mine). The further you go, the more difficult the tests but it's accompanied by an increase in privileges (that equals distance potential).
As far as costs, licensing is good for 10 years, testing is through local VECs (usually clubs) and can cost between $0 to about $15. A basic (but capable) HT can start at about $30 and go up from there.

I didn't know that, but way back in grade school, our vowels were: A,E,I,O,U and sometimes Y and W.
I don't know when W was used as a vowel or when we lost it.

One other consideration is if they Total it, and you buy back and repair it, it will have a Salvage or Rebuilt Title. You had best commit to driving it until the wheels fall off because the trade or resale value will be very low. 🤔

Not necessarily so. In Indiana, the car didn't change hands, so no new title was needed. I know this as fact as I did it back in the 90s myself, and my Mom just did it about 2 or 3 years ago. Two different insurance companies involved.
In both cases, the cars were already paid for, no financial institutions were involved.
I can't speak for other states, but that's the case in Indiana.

You should be able to buy it back, usually for a very low to reasonable price, we did that a couple of years ago, when my Mom hit the garage with her car.
Found an ideal parts car, same color and everything, the frame had rotted out on it but the front end was perfect.
Since the car was already in her name, no new title, salvage or otherwise, was needed.
When all was said and done, she actually pocketed about $2000 form it.
I told her that was a very poor way to make money!

My sympathies to all, Wednesday we had to put Daffy to rest. We adopted her in the Spring of 2010. She has been going downhill for a couple of years, but medications slowed down the decline.
In reality, we were keeping her going selfishly for us. She really wasn't in a lot of pain (but she was never one to show or express pain either, so that's a hard to judge thing) but she didn't have much of a quality of life either.
After coming in from outside, after doing her "chores", she run around the living room, chasing her two kitties for a couple of victory laps, then go lay down and sleep.
RIP Daddy's Princess, you've earned it.

In the late 60s, the High School I attended, in Gary Indiana no less, had an ROTC, .22 rifle range in the basement of one of the buildings.
Occasionally, once a month or once a quarter as I recall, they would open it up to outsiders to shoot.

I don't and pretty much refuse to use a self checkout kiosk. First off, I am a "people person", I usually strike up a conversation with the cashier and not infrequently the others waiting in line. If I wanted to do self checkout, I would sit at my computer in my pajamas and have it delivered to my door.
One big thing though, we didn't see many self checkout kiosks here, until the covid scamdemic, when the government paid way too may people to sit at home and stores couldn't get help (to a large extent, getting help is still a major problem). Once installed, they aren't likely to come out.

Welcome Stepper,

I was raised in the Gary, Glen Park area, a LONG time ago. Went to Riley grade school, Bailey Jr High and did 3 years at Lew Wallace High school.
Moved away at the end of my Jr year, in 1968.
