Looks like it was an awesome trip. Thanks for sharing. Hope to get to that lake one of these days. Hear you about not sleeping on rocks anymore (lol). With that in mind, is there a place to stay near that lake or is it pretty much camping only?

Most interesting. As someone who also suffers from motion sickness, I will have to give the gummies a try.
Cheers and thanks.

Seriously, I do.

It gives me a good reason to get off the road and do something relaxing. Even better, my wife encourages it since I'm in a far better mood when I walk in the door. (She doesn't know that today I'm only 2 exits away and I'm not going to tell her😜)

Obviously, I plan ahead but usually have everything I need in the car including bait (I brine).

Now THIS is a great solution for waiting out traffic. Bravo!

How infuriating. So many different types of machines are offering the same kind of problem, cars being a big one. It's like we are all being forced to buy "brand new" instead of just maintaining what we already have.

Hey there. Appreciated your in-depth report regarding these lakes in the Eastern Sierra. I have fished all of them over the years, so was very interested to hear how the fishing was there these days. Sorry to hear that it was a bit "weak" for you. Sadly, that has been my experience with many of the lakes on the eastern side in recent years. Not entirely sure what the problem is there, aside from inconsistent stocking of the lakes(?!). I can remember doing quite well in many of those in years past, particularly in the June Lake loop. I hope you have better luck out there the next time. There is a chance we will be staying with a friend in Mammoth in late September, so may try my hand again, at least at Rock Creek and Convict Lakes. Cheers and again thanks.

We recently moved to Murphys, down the mountains a ways from Alpine. Briefly visited the lake last week, but haven’t had a chance to fish there yet. Please give us a report later on how you do. Cheers.

Went to June lake 6/5/2023 thru 6/8/2023. Fishing was poor. The owners said they stocked three hundred pounds of fish, one and one half pounders. Me and my friend caught five between us none over a pound. We won’t be going back again.

Thanks for this report, Umpfisherman. A decade ago June Lake was a spectacular fishery. I've been disappointed there for at least four years now, and probably will cross it off my list of fishing venues for the next couple of years yet. "Maybe" all of these fish that are supposedly being stocked will have matured and settled in by then.
