Keeping my minnows alive?
A tray of ice makes a big difference. aerator is the best. Your filling your minnow bucket with water from the creek and not city tap water I hope.

Visiting Williamsburg, VA for a few days mid-October
I was near their in Virginia Beach when I served in the Navy in 92. They had charter fishing for half or whole day pretty reasonable down in the Virginia beach area. Back then I paid 25 dollars for half day. Go for the whole day because its a couple hrs out to sea and then back without fishing in order to get deep enough water. I caught a record size black sea bass. also a small spiny dog shark about 20 pounds.

Stores that help spool a spinning reel?
What are you doing wrong? If your using regular mono just tie a loop in the end of your line and lasso your reel. then place a piece of tape over the knot with the line pulled tight and reel. If you use braided put a little tape on it or make a starter of mono and tie the braided to it. The tape helps because the first time I put braided on a reel the whole works just stayed in place as I tried to reel. It is really slippery stuff. Tape keeps it from doing that.

Does anyone know how to prevent hands from smelling like fish when fishing?
I've heard dainty pink lady gloves work the best. Just use some decent soap AFTER fishing.

I use real chopped garlic and put my shrimp in a bowl and fill with water then add a tablespoon of chopped garlic.

I buy shrimp for catfishing. They don't have it in our bait shop. I get it with the shell and legs on it. I peel them and soak it in garlic overnight. Large bass eat them also. It was a shock to me but we have caught several large bass while using it for catfish.

Yes DrSkunkzor I agree about the light. I love fishing for bass topwater on a full moon. It can be the best big bass fishing you ever have.

Top Water Fishing Question! (Whopper Plopper / Walking Baits)
Oh I forgot. I quit using braid and went back to #12 mono because the braid caused me to break off rod eyes and snap rods. If you grab that shit with your hand getting out of a snag it will slice you open. It also loops around your reel if your not really careful.

Top Water Fishing Question! (Whopper Plopper / Walking Baits)
Before you put braid on make sure you have a mono lead of 25 to 50 ft tied to the reel and then tie your braid to the mono line. I didn't do this the first time using braid and I thought my new reel had a bad drag on it.You could reel all day long and that darn braid will just sit still as the reel spins because it is so slick.
For bass I wouldn't go over 50# but I'm sure #20 or #30 would cast better.
