Not sure about the depth, but crappies good on live minnows, careful casting as they fly off the hook in the distance across the lake.

What is the depth?
What baits are good to use for crappie there?
I've always found fishing across the lake best with minnows. Good casting open face rod and reel. About 3-4' deep.

Anyone here fish Western KY? Specifically around the Hopkins, Webster,Davies, Muhlenburg, Christian. Lake Malone,Lake Beahear? Just curious if bass have returned from the shock of the drastic temperature two weeks ago. Also anyone know the water temps. Guessing lower to mid 40's

Not sure 70's can't get ina boat now. Lake Malone is a great place to fish for Bass lower water, top water baits like the Rapala Broken back minnow. Small size.

When I was a kid in Warren county, Bowling Green Ky we used white lite flotter and hook bait and sinker with no problem. Bluegill, catfish and crappie wasn't a problem. Food on the table. Did fish go to school and learn what to eat, whte line not to bit at???? Just wondering.
