So does the water being supplied to the pee stream come from two different locations? You have a stream at the starting of the cold engine and then your say’n the stream intensifies as the thermostat is opening. I do realize that the stream is hotter when the motor is warmed up but don’t really notice a difference in the strength of the stream. 🤷‍♂️...🐟on

I wish I could draw then I could show you the “bypass” circuit...when the engine water pump turns (and it turns all the time) it pumps water and when the thermostat is closed the water goes through a passage to the pee hole and when the stat opens the water runs through the engine then to the same passage as the dumped water. Am I confusing you yet. lol

It’s the same stream don’t let the pressure from the muffs fool you both the stream strength and velocity will change as the engine warms up that’s why the meat thermometer you should see a difference and if the outlet temp reaches 200 degrees shut it down because the water is about to boil in the heads so long as the water is flowing your ok

Yes, I just like letting the motor pull the water in as compared to the 30+lbs. of water pressure in the muffs but you can still run a normal test use your meat thermometer to measure the water temp of the pee stream it should run between 140-160 degrees some run a little hotter and some cooler

Not all boats have a buzzer for overheat some just have a light but it’s easy to install a horn or buzzer, Mercury makes a kit.

New impeller is in...that was easy...running a wire thru the piss tube was easy...whatever needs to be done noe wont be easy....at least for me and my very basic mechanic skills.

Oh well...maybe they can get it done fast.....

Thanks again....ill let you guys know what the mechanics say

I think you already have it fixed but you haven’t properly tested the repair, are you a long way from water? If you are use your muffs, the pee stream should get stronger as the thermostat allows more coolant (water) as the engine warms up.

Advice taken....thanks bapa

If you haven’t put it in the water for a test drive you should, the thermostat is seeing a cold engine and limits the amount of coolant (water) as the engine warms up the thermostat allows more and more water until the engine is at temperature where it maintains a set temperature. This can take 5-10 minutes but the pee stream should get stronger and stronger you can leave it on the trailer just get the water intake under water start and observe that’s what the mechanics will do.

Let us know what the problem is thermostats rarely fail but when they do the impeller runs dry and hardens the edges of the fins. Hhmm...you can always fish from shore just cast out to where you would anchor your boat and enjoy.

Don’t look for non-existing problems you could make the next problem remember “if it ain’t broke don’t fix it” so replace the impeller and check the alarm to see if it works then go have fun

You’ll see it when you compare it to the new one.

It looks like the hub is spinning inside the impeller The new one will look a lot different than this one.

You can bring a lawn chair and fish I-10 south of Baton Rouge. It’s closed both directions. The area had 15” of rain the last 24 hours. More on the way.

Is that caused by the piss poor system of dikes and levies?.
