I agree with Ron, I’ve been using a Rapala knife for 25 years. No problems at all.
You’ll be less than an hour from Douglas lake. Great bass and crappie finishing there
Sounds like a cracked guide. Take a qtip and good around each eye. If there’s a crack or break the cotton will stick in it. And I agree 6lb is too light for 1oz c-rig. Try 17 - 20 lb line
I fished a winter tournament with the air temp at 16 and water temp at 32. Winner had 3 keepers caught on a jigging spoon.
Take a look at the Landmann Smokey mountain vertical smoker with the drawer for the wood box and water pan. I use the gas model. Easy holds 6 12 lb turkeys. I’ve smoked chickens, turkeys, ribs, brisket, ham and butts.
Hey Greg, in the spring, once the levels start to raise, the white bass, crappie and sometimes a sauger go up stream. Go up 81 to exit 8 and turn south until you reach the river to Nina rd, that will take you to and old road going into the water. I’ve caught 100s of fish there. Also where I40 crosses the lake either side is some good spots when the water level is low. You can also take the Dandridge exit and cross the lake to a park and boat ramp for some bank fishing. A good map will help.

These lakes, Watauga, South Holston, Boone, Cherokee, Douglas and Norris, are flood control lakes. They are also power generating but mostly designed for flood control. Makes the fishing very challenging during a 40 ft draw down.
The water level has started to drop, pulling the bass from the banks. Try rocky points and drop off near deeper water. Jig and craw combo near the full moon, worms other times.
