The Royals are low profile. More importantly there a deep red. I have and use 2 C4's for various techniques. Had 'em for about 18yrs

Hi, it's been around a few years. No advantage on a caster. Longest cast you'll see an a spinning reel. Tops in finesse light weight techniques. When you want to use 1/8oz or the like, this is it. Heaviest leader, 6lb flouro. Throwing trout lures, this is it.
Just read the Western Outdoor News report. Definite problem with the algae bloom. You should check out there weekly lake reports. Certainly helps with all the CA lakes.

Hi, need to remember the top water bite is very finicky. You have weather conditions, clouds , sun, wind, air temp, water temp, etc. Time of year. Whats the forage? When you do have a good top water bite, the ploper is tops. Replaced the Zara spook. I fish local tournaments in SoCal, a winner last fall because of white ploper. I have many, many top water lures, only one is tied on at all times on the boat, the ploper.
hi, fished the lake Sunday and today. They have continued to stock while the lake was closed. Kayakers and shore fisherman in the marina taking limits. I was chasing bass. Lake at full pool.

Hi, well there's a lot of sweet replies, except I didn't see one from anybody that knew anything about Royal Legend reels. I'm a SoCal tournament bass fisherman. I have won with these reels. Currently 8 on the boat plus another dozen different Kast King reels. I've used their rods and reels for going on 2 years. Best brand for your dollar on the market. Nothing negative about Shimano, Abu, Bass Pro, Quantum, Daiwa, etc. but what you get for that dollar. Ask Brent Chapman of the Bass Pro Tour why he uses Kast King.

Hi, I'm SoCal. I simply call my lake to find out if their open. So far yes. Currently fishing Pyramid. Yesterday 7 boats on the lake. Also there is a sheriffs station on the lake. If it was a no,no, they would let you know. Call and go fishing!
Hi,manage to place in couple tournaments last year. Key was a Strike King coffee tube in green pumpkin. Rigged on Trokar tournament tube hook, Texas rigged light weight. Never missed a hook set. This thing catches large Largies here in CA.
Hi, I belong to the Castaic Bass Club. I'm usually on the upper lake @ least twice a week. Fished the Lagoon many a day over the last 40yrs. Be on the lake tomorrow. There are no Stripers in the Lagoon. Largemouth is the fish and there are some monsters and easily caught from shore. Tie a drop shot, buy some nightcrawlers and walk the shoreline. When something is stealing your worm = yank your pole and wind. What happens next you'll figure out on your own. Also no trout in the Lagoon and you can take a ride to the upper lake bait shop and talk to the guys. We'll be doing a tournament in the Lagoon later this year. Good Luck
