I've been looking to find something definitive on whether or not you can fish Calif lakes/reservoirs under the "stay at home" order. I found some stuff that implies or infers that you can but no real yes or no. Can anybody out there point me to something that says, yes you can fish alone or with someone in your household?

I'm in Madera County and have several Army Corp reservoirs that I think have not been formally closed.

They let people go outside to go runnin or bike ridin so why not fishin? They are tryin not to discourage people from exercising. Fishin is one of the only exercises I get. I don't go out much if I'm not huntin or fishin. Cept grocery shoppin that is. I would be out there if I wasn't takin care of my wife, you could bet on it.

Go for it John. Worse case is you get a warning. Easier to ask for mercy then permission. Its not like you would be causing a riot. You would be social distancing yourself.

Lakes and reservoirs are closed here in San Diego.
Bay fishing is allowed and people are still surf fishing from what I read from the other site.

Not sure, but think parks are closing very soon if not already.

From what I understand you can go out but do not mingle with other people. I believe they are calling it a 6' rule. Keep a 6' distance from other people and here in commie Virginia no more than 10 people in a group. Mike

During the rainy season seems to be the best time to find them.
Nobody will know what we are talking about.

I'm in Placer County and as far as I know none of the lakes have been closed by the state or county. Collins Lake, which I fish frequently, has been closed by the people that run it. All the state parks that would charge a day use fee to fish have been closed. But if you can just drive up and park and fish, I'd try it. Like someone here said, worst that'll happen is someone will tell you not to and ask you to leave. Not like they're shootin people that are out and about. Yet.

If I could I would be out at lake Sonoma. Worse that they could do is have the gate closed or come find me on the lake and tell me to leave or leave a note on my truck. But I'd still try to get out fishin at least. It'll be a while though, so who knows by then. We all may have the virus before it's over. Lets hope and pray not though.

Might've put out some bad information. I just read in a previous post that some state parks are still open. The camp grounds are closed and they're trying to enforce that 6 foot distance rule, but I guess you can still fish. I'd give where ever it is you want to go a call and check ahead. Sounds like there's a lot of confusion out there.

Takin my granddaughters out to the bypass canals east of here. Lots of catfish in there, and I've even seen a striper or two come out of there. Lots of spots also. Should be a fun time. They're 10, out of school and bored as hell. A whole lot of nothin but rice and walnuts out there. Pictures for sure.
