4 strand line makes the most noise and 8 strand-like Power Pro is less noisy.
I have had days when 16 bass was all in a day's take and I have had a lot of days when only 4 or 5 was a good days take and bad days with no fish at all it all depends on the weather the tide and the fish activity of that day.
Like Grizzly 17 says a 28lb thrust trolling motor will not help a bit in any kind of current. The last 17-foot Tracker I had also had a 40 HP motor, and it was used on the river with current all the time, and my 55-pound thrust MK still had problems navigating in heavy tide strong current but most of the time 55-pound thrust was just fine but you may still want more.
I would agree with almost everything you say especially when it comes to the spinning reels not even needing any spool bearings in it in the first place as I have never seen a spinning reel spool spin. I tell all my friends not to waist there money on a spinning reel with a tone of bearings it is all a sales pitch with no upgrade at all. I would like to try the bearing upgrade for my pitching and flipping reels as all the breaks are turned off and the magnets are turned off too. I could careless about the casting distance that you get with the upgrade as I have no need to cast past 15 to 20 feet to the shore line anyways for most of my casts it is just the pitching and flipping distance part that might improve a bit.
Has the Sno Bowl ever hurt the gel coating on your boat and do you leave it on or rinse it off and buff.
What is your experience with Boca bearings or any other high speed bearings and is it worth the upgrade over the standard bearings that come with a new reel.

I am in the same mind set as I use to have a Diawa Tatula and I loved it for pitching and flipping but one day it walked away without my permission? The Diawa Tatula works great for pitching but so does the Curado DC but the Tatula is cheaper and exept for the DC part of it the Tatula is a great pitching reel and it really comes down to how much $$$ you want to spend.
