I interviewed with That Dam Company when they first opened. Was top three, but they wanted someone with more recreational experience.
I’ve heard there were large bass in there. I’ve heard people would bring in live bass and plant them themselves. Not really good, but doesn’t seemed to have hurt the lake. Unless those big bass are feeding on the planted trout.
I was up at Bon Tempe and Lagunitas last week. Water was a bit low and warm. Not my many places to fish.

You and me both. During the summers I’d take Muni cross town, sometimes 2-3 times a week. Usually would limit.
I really haven’t seen the lake look better. Wish somebody in Park and Recreation would take it under it wings and get it back to its potential. Fish and Game do plant, but far and few between and yet the fishing is still tough.
A friend of mine said that he sent a proposal or mange the lake, bait shop, boats, the works. No go. Not a word.
The whole situation is sad.
Lake Merced was in the top five in the nation as far as urban recreational lakes. Now it’s almost nothing. They do stock, but even after a plant fishing is thought.
Evidently all boat operators in California will need to be licensed, even boat renters.

I grew up trolling for stripers along with drifting under the south tower. My pb went 27lbs. Those were the days.
8lb catfish on 4lb test line.
I caught a 8lb catfish, on a Senko, on 4lb test line.
That’s about as good a place as any. Check their website for last plant.

When is/was this event? For years I volunteered taking Special Needs Kids fishing. Like “your kids” many of them caught their first fish ever. Smoked were priceless as we as their experience.
