I went to O'neill Forebay yesterday and was told that I couldn't launch my boat due to it being a per-1999 2 cycle. Very disappointing to me as it's been a great place to fish when I used to have an inflatable with trolling motor. Plus I got up at 4:00am and drove 99 miles! UGH!
Just wondering. Thanks

Yea sucks but new California law is not allowing any two cycle motors being used on boats , weedwackers etc. and diesel motors are being phased out within next 7 years that’s why big rigs are going electric. So if you see a sweet deal on 2stroke anything don’t buy it. Cops have not started ticketing them yet.

My reels are bait-casters , and the drag was set on free spool but something went south because the carp was pulling it out into the lake but it all ended well .

I’m glad it did there’s nothing cheap about replacing tackle. And you got nice carp to boot. Thumbs up.

Seems like a life jacket for cellphones and fishing rods would be good too. Hopefully it taught him a lesson

I keep my cellphone and papers in a ziplock so stays usable.

When I put my rod holder into the ground today didn't go in very deep but like my Dad used to say good enough for government work. Caught a few carp then a 7 lber. came along and pulled over the rod holder and my fishing pole started heading into the deep blue sea, lucky I was fishing on a slope and ran into the water up to my knees and grab the butt end of my rod at the last second, save pole and reel plus pulled in a 7 lb carp. Got 4 today.

And that’s why we set are drag. No pun intended, glad you saved it. Nice carp.

Fred.... I'm pretty sure the thief isn't a budding electronics experimenter building some bench test gear.
Maybe along with the stolen tools, he/she is heading to a pawn shop to grab a couple of bux ?
I was in one recently, and bought a few selected metric box wrenches. I was amazed by what I saw available & what deals were being made. One guy came in to pawn what were obviously contents of somebody's shed or garage. In a wheelbarrow! Watched him leave the parking lot on foot. Cops don't bother with this stuff, and that's one reason that thefts are so rampant . I realize they have other stuff to attend to, but surely there are slow periods when they could go in, examine the log book, and make a few inquiries. ? ! ? .

Out here they drive with a hot sheet and when they spot a vehicle to nice to be in area in front of a basically homeless RV they run the vin I see it all day long out here first hand there so many stolen vehicles out here it’s overwhelming. He got lucky normally there stripped same day then dumped along track(behind me) I’ve seen over 6 Chevy trucks at one time out there. Oakland is off the hook.

Went fishing yesterday and had a great day on the water, we caught 18 fish,we kept 5 Halibut and 5 Stripers. We released 2 soupfin sharks, 4 undersized striper and 2 undersized Halibut.

Got back to the dock and luck changed, found out my Truck and boat trailer had been stolen shortly after I launched. The harbor master has video footage of truck

and trailer leaving parking area about 30

minutes after we launched.

I live in Oakland and there are tons of stolen trucks and trailers through out city I will keep my eyes out..

I’m now in search of a replacement EZ Loader trailer for my 2005 20’ Northriver Seahawk.

Got so busy filling out police reports I forgot to take pictures of our catch.

I've got one on order (4' radius) and now trying to find a good instructional video. Unfortunately, there's a ton of them on utube but I'm overwhelmed with filtering them out.

If you have one that you found particularly helpful can you forward me a link.

The two scenarios I'm interested in are:
1. From shore -- emphasis on distance
2. From my kayak -- don't need distance but best way to do it from seated position

Thanks in advance,

I have one and all I can say is practice on land preferably grass… practice practice practice. 1 out 3 throws for me present a banana effect. It’s in the wrist and how it’s held but everyone is different the way they throw it. I personnely go with the instructions that come with net. It just takes practice, try not to think about it just keep trying. I do get bait fish and couple times I caught a striped bass and even stingray. They are illegal to use on fresh water only salt water is allowwd

We thought it was working over 4 year stretch I was a fishing fool every weekend and was getting my limit so much my parents made me stop because freezer was packed. That’s when I started to throw my catch back and I haven’t kept a fish ever sense to this day I am just in it for the sport. We also made sure we was fishing as close to the area the truck would release there stock. Also by nimbus dam in Folsom it seemed to work on salmon after they planted. Gaining advatange over other anglers was pretty good.

When I was just knee high to grasshopper fishing at lake chabot we come up with this idea about hatchery fish being fed food pellets daily. So we thought we mimick that sound of pellets hitting water with pea gravel in hopes the freshly stocked trout would come a running to our lines in water. Never proved it worked but we sure got our limit most of time. Who thinks it may just work? Sorta like a cat when it hears can opener.
