I have often wondered why Donald Sutherland did not get the same kind of treatment as Jane since he was there with her?

If I remember correctly Hanoi Jane shook hands with a prisoner who palmed her a note. Then Jane handed the note to the Vietnamese that were holding the prisoners. Sutherland didn't do that as far as I remember. Please feel free to correct me if I got this wrong. I'm 72 and don't remember things like I use too. I do remember Capt. Kangaroo but my joints don't hurt anytime, thank God. I'm sure my time is coming.

I took my young girls fishing during a full moon. One of them asked me why do fish bite better during a full moon? I told them the fish looks up and thinks he sees a cookie and it makes them hungry. That worked. Another time they asked why do fish jump out of the water? My answer, to see where they are in the lake. That worked for a while.

That's insane isn't it Steve. I have no idea what today's enlisted men and women are paid, but I'm sure it's still not enough. I wonder if it's still tax free?

Except now the military men have to pay for alot of their gear and their uniforms. That is wrong on so many levels.

My dad made $21 a month when he enlisted in 1937. In 1968 I was paid 87 a month. I don't know what what starting salary is now but I don't think it is enough for a family to live on. We should pay them at least a living wage. Sports figures are way overpaid. As are CEOS of large corporations. Elon Musk wanted $56 billion to head his company.

Right now I think illegals get more than that. I'm not sure but they get room and board, phone, and a cash card.

Hello stagers,
Here is the reason the Old Woman and children Lived In A Shoe.
As the story goes, A Giant came and kidnapped her husband to work for him. The children and the Old Woman fled their home just before the giant crushed it with his Shoe. When the giant left with her husband he left behind his shoe. The Old Woman and her children lived in the shoe until they could build a new house.
Until next time,

Hello stagers,
Gizmo and I bought some 🪱 worms the other day in hopes of doing some fishing, but the weather didn't cooperate. We put them in the fridge.
Tonight we checked on them all but 2 were alive and wiggling. We fed them some celery leaves a coffee ☕️ grounds.
That was two hours ago they have completely surrounded the celery and are actively moving about.
There are about 25 of them in a fishing worm container that you buy in a tackle shop.
This, I hope, is our training lesson before we go all in.

I'm proud of my Grandson. Two years ago this was a squeamish little boy who would run from bug. Last year I taught him how to fish. He would reach into the fish bucket and hand me the next fish to be fileted. This year he is sorting worms and worm castings with his bare hands with no problems whatsoever.

So he knows his crap and he is getting his crap together. Lol I have heard of putting bits of Scotch bright pad in with the worms toughen up their skin so they stay on the hook better. I don't know if its true.

Hello stagers,
I just read a interesting article on how to freeze dry foods in a regular freezer.
It involves putting the foods to be dried on a plate and place in the freezer at lowest possible temperature for about a week or so. Then place the frozen items in vacuum sealed bags and continue to keep them frozen.
I was wondering if any of you have tried this method before.
It sounds like a cheaper option to a freeze drying machine but possible less sanitary.
Your experience and opinions are most welcome.

We don't change the temperature setting but we do put peas and green beans on a cookie sheet freeze them for 7-10 days then vacuum seal them. When thawed they are wrinkled but taste fresh. Rehydration helps. Put them in warm water to thaw and most of the wrinkles disappear. I don't know that we are doing it correctly, but it works for us. We do raspberry the same way.

A while back, I woke up with a horrible hang over. The neighbor was mowing his lawn and I was going to get up but decided the heck with it he can mow around me. I saw that story and it seemed appropriate. Lol

Hello stagers,
I just read a interesting article about red heads.
In my youth I had bright red hair. Actually it was closer to orange. Now it is snow white.
I was wondering what is your natural hair color?
Please share us your hair color when you had some.

There is a song about a guy who buys a used corvette and finds a letter in the glove box from the original owner who never made it home from Viet Nam. Wish I could remember the title . If anyone knows, please post the title. Saddest song ever. Also unchained melody by the Righteous Brothers.
