I just read that according to science the group Queen has the top three most popular songs.
#1 We Will Rock You
#2 We Are The Champaigns
#3 BOHEMIAN Rhapsody
According to science the Saddest song is,
Sad Girls by the Sex Pistols
I have to admit that I have never heard Sad Girls and I do enjoy the top three by Queen as well as Rock and Roll All Night by Kiss.
As for as my all time saddest song. It would be
One Tin Solder from the movie Billy Jack.
The singer was Jinx Dawson and the group Covenant.
I'm curious? What are your favorite songs and saddest songs.

I also want to mention Indian Reservation by Paul Revere and the Raders.
That one gets my Indian blood boiling.

So many great classic rock songs it’s really difficult to pick a favorite, depends largely on my mood at the time. I’d have to say my saddest son is “Landslide” by Stevie Nicks.

Not sure it’s the saddest song I know but saddest I can think of. Came to mind as I drove to see my father for the last time this year, honestly had a hard time listening to it.

I feel like I'm going to Die Rag by Country Joe and the Fish.
First heard it in a bar in 1969 from an Army Vet that was worried about me hearing it. LOL
Told him if he didn't mind I wouldn't as I knew he was also a Vet.
Laughing asked him who did the song. When he told me the name I slid off the chair onto the floor laughing.
In the Navy a Country Joe is a guy that never had more than one pair of shoes at a time until he got to Boot Camp.
And Fish are what the reserves called all of us that had singed up for 4 years active duty.
True story.

Too many favorites. Music and letters were our only connection to the World (USA) when I was in Viet Nam. We always listened to the radio when back inside the wire. Sit around and talk about home/wives/girlfriends; the life we missed and hoped to return to. Because of that, I can tell you almost where I was and doing what when certain songs place. I continued that till rap started. The sadist song to me was “Honey” by Bobbi Goldsboro. Haven’t heard it in years. Those songs of the past still raise the memories today. Some not so good, but just sayin. You don’t outlive them, I might add.

The UK would originally not permit that song to be aired because of it’s story.
