Hey y'all!

I'm gonna be heading to the river to try and catch some trout, and I was wondering how y'all store your catch to keep it fresh while you fish. I asked a friend of mine and he says he just tosses them in a plastic bag and then puts them in his backpack, but that just sounds... unhygienic and a good way to let your fish spoil.

I'll be fishing in Eastern Washington and the temps have been highs of high 70's - low 80's, and lows of around 50. Most likely will be fishing in the evening when things start to cool off

Been fishing in Eastern Washington about 7 decades now and have always just put em on a stringer and threw back in the water. So far, at 78, it hasn't killed me yet but then I haven't gone fishing for about a week so will have to check and see if I am still alive.

I’m sorry guys and gals, I didn’t make my question clear, crossing state lines can be tricky, state lakes and campgrounds usually say no firearms, lakes on game preserves or
Rreserves that by law say no firearms. Basically any body of water that may be posted, no firearms. Hide in tackle box?
I am 78 and have had a carry permit in the State of Washington since 1965. The only place I openly carry is in the mountains while hunting or fishing in snake infested area. The rest of the time I completely conceal it and have never had a problem, even from Law Enforcement. because people do not know I have it. In an area where it is against the law to carry it I make a decision if I really need to go there or not. I have had to display the weapon in self defense a couple of times so am in the firm opinion that if I am in spot B and my firearm is in spot A it does me absolutely no good if I need it immediately. All the guns in the world will not do you any good if at least one of them is not where you are. Critters that intend, or are capable of, doing harm will not wait for you to go get a gun.

You can put boats in the water. When fishing from the bank a lot of people do well with a salmon egg and mini marshmallow. There are also walleye in some of the chain. It is a nice place to camp when Inslee finally decides to grant us a boon and allow overnighting. Was stationed at Homestead AFB in the late 60's had to decide which was my driest uniform in the morning, way too much humidity for me.

Thought about it for a minute and a very good source would be Hooked on Toys there in Wenatchee. There is also a website that has some good information called Northwest Fishing Reports. You also have Mack's Lures in town.

Hello: My name is Brenda and I am new to Wenatchee and I am having to learn all about fishing by myself seeings my "Significant Other" works all the time. I don't even know where any of the fishing lakes are besides Lake Chelan. Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Brenda

You have Lake Wenatchee, the Quincy lakes with several individual lakes. Go towards Quincy and turn right at the fruit stand past the rest area watch for Public fishing signs and turn right. Columbia River is pretty good.

I've been really wanting to get over to the Moses Lake area to try some Walleye fishing. With all of the COVID-19 restrictions we have in WA it's still seems a bit difficult to make a couple days of a trip.

State campground at Potholes State Park is still closed. Got any recommendations?
His Majesty, Inslee has decreed he will allow us to fish but we are not allowed to spent the night anywhere. His edict is that if you can not go, fish, and return home in the same day you are going to far.

You people in any State but Washington do not need to rub it in that you can go hunting and fishing. Our idiot in chief closed both seasons, the only state to do so.

I am 78, been fishing for about 73 of those years and up until last year I have fished with an Eagle Claw rod and cheap reel that I could buy both for under $40.00. I fed my family fish for an awful lot of years when I was growing up and later with my own family. Last year I finally decided I could afford to pamper myself a little so bought a St. Croix rod for Walleye with a nice reel. Yes it is nice using that rod but you know what? A limit of fish is only a limit of fish no matter the cost of the gear or a high priced name. Use what you can afford or want and the world be damned because the fish still taste the same and it is just as much fun.

There is no such thing as a dumb question if you do not know. There are idiotic answers. Over the last 70+ years I have put many trout in the frying pan using mini marshmallows and salmon eggs. Put the marshmallow on first then the egg. Use a sliding sinker so the bait can float up off the bottom a little.. One thing about this bait is if the fishing is no good, the kid can eat part of the bait. Good luck.

Just before Gov Inslee shut Washington down, I bought a boat from a guy on the West side of the Mountains and had to travel from Eastern Washington to get it. WDFW has also closed all fishing in this state so now all I can do while this goes on is sit in the boat on a trailer on my property. I have been sitting there, having a little Irish Coffee and fishing. I must be doing something wrong so can anyone tell me what bait would be best for driveway walleye? I haven't even got a bite in two weeks. Thing is, after a few cups of coffee, I really don't care. It keeps me out of the house, on the boat, fishing so I am happy and the wife is happy. I guess there is a silver lining in every thing.

Has anyone used these inflatable vest's ? I want to go fishing by myself, not by choice. Often my friends or family can't go when I want too. My wife worries about that !!! I have all the required vest's for a 2 man or woman, but there bulky and hard to fish with wearing them. So I don't with a partner on board. But she might be right by myself. Any comments welcome. Thx, fishing smaller lakes in southern AZ. PARKER CANYON LAKE, and PATOGONIA LAKE. CJ.
I have used an inflatable for many years and they are comfortable and light. I personally would recommend an automatic that will inflate when submerged in water, the reason is there is no guarantee that you will be conscious when you hit the water and you have to be conscious to pull the cord on the manual inflatables.

Having lived all my life, 77 years, in Grant and Okanogan counties of Washington state with Rattlers and making trips to Arizona, I carry a .22 pistol with birdshot or a Bond Arms derringer in .45/410 which takes care of venomous snakes. Being in Australia I do not know what the laws concerning handguns is there. I have also taken up wearing snake proof boots or snake guards and do not worry about them but you do have to watch where you put your hands and rear end.
