Hey Ziggy
What I catch I eat and there is no incidental take like commercial fishing. They have limits in place for a reason and I abide by them. The BFT weren’t even in the equation off of San Diego 15 years ago so they must be doing something right regulation wise.
Make sure everything you take home and eat is on its deathbed. I will follow the rules and enjoy my time on the water.

Maybe on the east coast.
Atlantic tunas are the most common tuna and are found in the Atlantic Ocean. Pacific Bluefin is a rarer species and is found in the Pacific Ocean. Atlantic tuna is larger than Pacific tuna. Pacific tuna is more torpedo-shaped, while Atlantic tuna is more rounded.
Limit style fishing for Bluefin on the Pacifica out of Seaforth landing. 3 day trip with BFT from 12 to 110 lbs and near limits of yellowtail from 12 to 27 lbs. my son in law fought a 100+ pounder for 45 minutes and lost him at the gaff. Another 5 seconds and that fish would have been over the rail. He was heartbroken.
All in all a good trip with 12 BFT (pictured) going to be processed. I had all the yellowtail filleted on the boat so no pics. The deckhands gotta make some money.
Be sure you tip them well, they bust their asses day in and day out.
Dixon is one of my favorite lakes for shore fishing. I flyline night crawlers on 8 lb. test and thump em.
A good chance of getting spooled on 8 lb on that lake.
The former home of Dottie.
World record Largemouth that was foul hooked, released and found floating the following year.

My brother said I was holding that one backwards and upside down!
I did a full day on the San Diego out of Seaforth Landing.
Long boat ride for me! 😂
Thanks Gents!
I will post the September results. Chomping at the bit and it is only June.
😂
I have a 3 day scheduled for the first week in September. I will let ya know the outcome. Fair seas and tight lines to all!
Limit style fishing on the 1 1/2 to 3 day trips last couple days. Just gotta find a school that wants to play. That’s Bluefin fishing, chewing one day lockjaw the next!
They’re back… More like they never left!
School grade 30-40 lbs up to toads over 200. Still trying to break the century mark but a couple 35 pounders was more than enough fight for this old man!
It was fun watching the youngins get their asses kicked by the big boys while I was sipping on a Coors light! 😂
Welcome,
I haven’t fished for yellow perch since I was a kid on Lake Eerie. Delicious!!
Lol
I think Kelp Greenling is the one! Nice call! And thanks again to all.
Dogman
Pretty sure the fish in this video is in the Wrasse family. My sister wants to know what it is and I have no clue! Need some help!
Thanks in advance!
We were on a 2 day on the Islander. Kind of a weird trip. We lost seven hours of fishing on the first day due to a medical emergency. The cook broke a couple ribs and we motored back to San Diego dropped him off and motored back out. Found the magic kelp the following morning and loaded the boat!
I am still trying to break the century mark!
