I have fished north of CHS inlet up to GTown, never below Ft Sumter. I need Folly intracoastal locations - Give up your fav spot 🙏🏻. Best structure? Sunken barge? - Best creek? Name? Which inlet/outlet to the ocean is “best” in your opinion? We’re Targeting Spots & Trout. Middle 2 weeks of November. Thanks in advance!!!!!!!

I’m in - I’ve relocated in Saugerties. Missed last April/May run due to renovation and work. I have teased Schoolies up (white eel lures) in Hudson City but they got turned away/spooked constantly by the leaves on top (last Fall). I don’t target the Spring Run. No true desire to mess with breeding massive fish.
If I hooked into a 40 inch one getting her up the rocks or up a pier would be quite a thing. My PB was 28” in Brooklyn. That said - you will find me in a couple of different places this April-May praying to Not hook a massive Striper. I finally found a good source for Bunker. I have only in the past used eel lures - my first Striper was accidentally caught on btm jig loaded with chix gizzard and a piece of shrimp targeting Tautogs. Striper took it on the fall off Red Hook in Brooklyn. Itching to go out now!

Met a guy near Charleston that swore he just put aluminum foil on a hook, worked fine. Never did for me though lol I’ll try anything.

If you had to only choose one lure for big/small Bass what would it be?

I haven’t had much luck - anyone target them on the Hudson? I have tried every trick I know.

Lots of salty fish in the Hudson. Twice now I have had eel lures bite off just at the hook - Blues usually do that down where I use to fish - Wallabout Canal and off Red Hook, Brooklyn - I have never had a Striper do it. I get too antsy sitting about with cut bait, don’t mind too much when Tog fishing though. My big learning curve is getting these Smallmouth on - see’m flapping about but nothing I present seems to amuse them.

Actually Malden. I don’t know much, fished it 3 times (total 5? hrs). I was targeting Schoolies, but nada luck with every Striper lure and even shrimp (works in Brooklyn), but yesterday hit a good size Smallmouth (about 17”) on a 2” plastic fish lure with a tag of shrimp on it. I thought all the fin’ing and bait jumping was due to Schoolies (never got a good look). I now have to learn to Smallmouth fish in a tidal river.
- What lures do they like?

No luck today - no fin’ing jumping or bait leaping around, high waves & wind.
