Be prepared to get grief from some stagers on putting 2 p-s in striper, got to spellcheck before sending!! Strippers go to the attic.

It’s still and will ALWAYS be the Tappan Zee, I’ve never heard it called anything else by anyone other than a politician.
The whole Coumo family are a bunch of mobsters!
With that said, the stripers will be heading up stream this month (many are already there) where they stack up like cordwood right by the Beacon /Newburg bridge. There’s an under water shelf that they seem to utilize every year.
As soon as the season starts and they start moving down stream they will be in need of food. I found that by Croton Point sand worms work best, but keep them just off the bottom as there are snags everywhere. If you’re in a boat jigs and plugs produce well. Down by Piermont people use blood worms and sand worms, but here anglers spray the bait with WD-40. I may never understand why but it does seem to work, at least it does around Piedmont.🤷.

Hi Folks:

I haven't gone out myself, but one of my fishing buds (who is far more expert than I am) says there are reports of the stripers being in the Hudson already.

I've never fished Piermont. Is there a specific street or area?

You’ll have to park at the park entrance and walk out, unless you can sweet talk your way into driving out on the pier. It’s been a few years since I went out there. You’ll have to Google Piemonte pier. It’s an experience going out there.

Thanks. We've gone to restaurants and bars there but never even tried to fish. Whenever I drive over the Tappan Zee Bridge I always wish I was down there fishing!!!

I moved out of NY a while ago, but still follow Stripers up and down the coast. Here are links to two sources of good information. One is fishing reports from The Compleat Angler the second is for “On The Water” which provides status of the Striper migration on a weekly basis. They will let you know where the Stripers are and their size class.
Hope these help
