Instead of telling you what it is which others will for sure. I offer this advice.
Add the app FISH RULES to your phone or tablet. FWC recommends this app also to stay up to date on rule changes, and season closings etc. App has blue background under blk fish. This will help to ID just about everything that swims near you.
Good Luck!

By the time I go to bed all the thinking and planning is done. I just think I should have gone to bed earlier as 4 AM is quickly approaching!

Bass spinner baits. Started the kids on those to catch small pike to hold their interest. Of course as my son informed me after catching a 40 inch pike on his 1/4 ounce spinner bait, with his Zebco 33, “sometimes they want a t bone steak and sometimes just a French fry”

My wife laughs as I go through my lures to decide which ones get to make the trip to Canada in box #1 or #2, the boxes that are in the boat everyday. The rest go into the Backup boxes #3,4,5,6. What good are they if they are 900 miles away??

Just wanted to share a site I have been using for years to buy tails for saltwater fishing. But, they have lots of styles and sizes. Wait for a sale, there is always one coming very soon. Subscribe and get the emails. I saw someone had a question about twister/Curley tails the other day.

Lockett Lures
Think it’s Lockettlures.com

Has a black/ white logo with ugly fish.
You should be able to find it.

On the big 8 inch jumbo saltwater tail I save a quarter per tail. Come in 25 count bags.

Hope this helps somebody. Gotta save a buck where you can.

They have always provided great service too.

Totally Agree!! My first and second boats I bought and never put either on the water. Both were used boats under $1000 per boat, motor, trailer. Sold each for just over $2000 and used that and another thousand to buy my starter boat. WS16 Lund with Merc 50 HP Tiller which people thought was huge at the time. Roller trailer, spare tire, running lights. With taxes a bit over $5k. Kelp my starter boat 31 years, did 60 plus weeks to Canada Muskie fishing. Boat was garage kept and covered in the garage and on the road. Listed it for sale asking $5500.00. Sold for $5000. Now that’s crazy. First to see it bought it. Always wished I knew how many hours were on the motor. Currently running much larger boats off shore on the gulf and own none of them. Maintain none of them. Life is good! Went shopping with a buddy looking for a 28 foot boat twin 300s. Nothing fancy, a fishing boat, $280,000 with no trailer as he has a lift. Fish with another buddy on his CAT. $380,000. My brand spanking new house I bought 5 years ago in a SWFL community $450,000. Yep, it’s even crazier on saltwater.

YES, One per angler with a tag, with a limited number of $500 tags. This is a Federally Protected Fish. Researchers say that the majority of the world population is between Tampa, FL and the FL KEYS. It’s a great fish for smart charter captains as easy to catch and you can catch the same fish daily or even a couple times a day. I don’t thing any visitor to Fl says no when ask, how would you like to catch the biggest fish of your life. Unfortunately, I think there are more Goliath than smart captains available. That’s just my opinion on captains and Goliaths

Protected, BUT, there is a limited harvest this year, not sure how many. $500 tag gets you one between I think 32 and 38 inches. Now there’s a deal for ya.

Swai also known as Basi. Not available to catch in the USA. But you ask for low quality and this is the lowest that you can get. Restaurants love it but I would say they don’t know what they are serving other than a fish with high profit. It’s a farm raised bottom feeding catfish that comes out of some of the most polluted waters in the entire world It is farm raised, filleted, flash frozen, shipped to the USA and wholesales for under $2 a pound of it gets cleared. Hundreds of thousands of pounds are rejected and sent home, all should be. In FL it is served in restaurants and customers are told it is a grouper like fish. You might as well drink a glass of Mercury with it.
