Had a very slow morning yesterday when the fishing here at Lake Powell has been very good for the last two weeks. Finally tried a Senko and caught a nice smallie but it was still slow and what hits I was having were short strikes. So, time to move from a five to a four inch Senko. Went through everything I had on the boat but no four inch Senkos. Of course just checked the two boxes of just in case back up tackle I brought along for my spring month at Powell and found two bags in the first box. You can be sure they will be on the boat tomorrow and you know I probably won't need them. I bet most of you can tell a similar tale.

I can laugh off leaving my go to bait behind. It's forgetting the PVD when i am nearly to my first spot that will have me mumbling all the way back to get it. Then find it right where i left it so i wouldn't forget it. OUCH!!!
Just like a hand gun: If you don't have it when you need it, you may never need it again! Just Sayin...RJS
Me and my buddy fish in a 13 ft Geenoe. Forgot the trolling motor but had a paddle. Next day his shoulder hurt. Couldn't figure out how to hook up the battery to the paddle. But I like to slow fish so it worded out. I caught more than he did.
Well, Hoss slow fishing isn't all bad! Just as you've proved. Just Sayin...RJS

Just googled that 13' Geenoe. Cool little craft looks like it would work well in lakes and ponds, a little low on the sides for river fishing from what i can tell.
I can see why the the shoulder hurt from paddling .

Who would think an extra inch would make a difference? Whoops better not go there.
You can't turn them over. I fish backwards with the motor in front of me. Put battery in front to balance the weight with long jumper cable. The square back slows it down. Use a little pony trolling motor to really go slow. For me this is perfect. Better than any kayak in my opinion. The geenoe story starts with a man named Gee who combined his name with a part of canoe. Started in Fla now made in Winder Ga I believe. Saw one with a jet ski motor mounted in the middle. Look it up.
What size line and weight I usually drop down in line size to 12# or 14# on a senko as well as no weight or 1/64 to a 1/32. I use a purple with metallic metal flake. I use Sunline fluorocarbon as th fish Don't see it as well as monofilament. I use bang anise oil scent this makes a fish hold on to it better. I hope these tips the scales in your favor so to speak.

Saw,
If Texas rigged I would have done just that, but these were wacky rigged and it throws off the balance.

Seegundo,
I was fishing eight pound fluorocarbon leader as Lake Powell is very clear water and Bang shad scent. Senko was weightless.

Well darn. Hope you can put em in the boat now with the shorter ones.
I get yelled at all the time Jim when we go visit our youngest son. The wife says I take up the whole back of the car with my fishing stuff. She always asks why I have to take so much. I’m going to make sure I show her your post
