2nd time this year my Orvis Access 3wt. rod has snapped leading a trout into the net. First time it was the tip section. This time it was the section below the tip. What am I doing wrong?
Here’s a picture of the culprit this time. She’s was around 19 or 20 inches. Good fight. I let her go so I can get her again.

I’ve found absolutely none on the South Branch. The hatchery must have taught them how to avoid fake food.

My son & grandson went fishing in CO. I went in VT. I caught a bunch of brookies. They caught only a couple of fish. Who had the better day?

I think its a cross between a cutthroat and a rainbow, a cutbow. I’ve caught similar in CO mountain lakes.

New 5 wt fly rod. First cast ever hooked what is easily my PB small mouth. The guy hit a #16 prince nymph. Took awhile to get him to the net. Glad I wasn’t using my 3 wt.
