2nd time this year my Orvis Access 3wt. rod has snapped leading a trout into the net. First time it was the tip section. This time it was the section below the tip. What am I doing wrong?
Here’s a picture of the culprit this time. She’s was around 19 or 20 inches. Good fight. I let her go so I can get her again.

Well here's my thought. High-sticking.

How do you land a fish without high sticking?
To help your landing technique, we suggest not putting the rod at an angle above 60deg parallel to the ground. By using a combination of side pressure, and by using longer-handled nets, you can get your fish landed without putting fatal levels of stress on your tip section.

Nice trout!
