The Administrator sent me a reply that said OK to post something for sale here. They take no responsibility for any transactions as a result.

So, a few months ago, I bought a new 16 foot aluminum fishing boat. It has a dual console so there is windshield coverage for my wife for a change. It has front and rear casting platforms and some issues I have to deal with due to poor engineering design, but all thats another story.

Boat has a nice 90HP Merc 4 stroke on it. Love that it has a 4 stroke as my old bass boat had a 2 stroke and caused me some problems. The boat also came with a Minn Kota Power Drive trolling motor. The model is 1358737. It is a 12V with a 54" shaft and 50 plus pounds of thrust. (It does not have B.T. but it can be added per my understanding).

It also comes with a foot pedal control and quick release mounting bracket. I'm selling it because I bought a Minn Kota Ulterra 24V to get installed on this new boat. I really don't need 24V power on an aluminum boat of this size, but to get the features of the Ulterra, you got to go with 24V or 36V. If you don't know already, it can deploy itself and retract as well and it has (Spot Lock) too.
I'm getting too old to wrestle with deploying the trolling motor multiple times per day and i can't wait to utilize spot lock. By the way, I also ordered up a Talon Shallow water anchor and also the quick release boat trailer deal as well.

Bass Pro has the above trolling motor on line for $699.99 then you have to add taxes. You would likely spend over $750 to get one. I'm looking for a quick sale of mine (used one week only)and my price is $575. Shipping charges would be added.

Let me know if interested.

I'll give you another potential MAJOR PROBLEM with the live well system on a Bass Tracker. The (overflow) drain hole is NOT screened. Just an open hole.

A few years back, with my Bass Tracker Pro 17, I was staying at Roland Martins Marina at Okeechobee. Earlier in the day, I purchased some large bass minnnows (shiners) and they are expensive. Wanted to keep them alive overnight while docked at their marina. So I had my battery charger plugged in and the live well flowing to bring in water continuously.
Good thing I had tied off both sides of the back as well as the front. Next morning, there was a note on my windshield of the boat and the boat was at an angle. It was discovered over night that the boat was sinking.
Turned out that one of those large shinners swam into that overflow hole and got stuck. That prevented the water from draining out and so it filled up the livewell and then the boat bilge area, etc.
A screening over that hole would have solved the whole thing.

At local Marina near me on the coast, A guy was at the dock and helping to fill the gas tank on this boat which had the filler on the side rail or back (not sure), but it seems he saw one of those chrome plated "holes" that you would normally use as a (rod holder).
Guess he thought that was the right place to fill up the tank. Don't know how many gallons he pumped into what was really the bilge area. But the whole thing blew up big time once someone tried to crank it up.

my reviews of the NOCO brand have convined me to order up one also as soon as my new 24 v. trolling motor is available.

YES, I have become fully aware of the (deployment), etc. problems spoken about the Ulterra model. I have reviewed multiple videos and comments that address those concerns.
Much of those problems were with the earlier versions of that model and have been addressed. As per a video of a professional guide that I viewed, he was fully supportive of his Ulterra and went on to address the maintenance to ensure you don't run into problems. He has me convinced.

I' m approaching 80 yrs old and have had my fill of shutting down the big motor and moving to the front to pull a cord and deploy my trolling motor...........only to do the reverse when I need to move a good distance away to another area.
I'm buying mine with a (thrown in) extended warranty on any problems with that motor. I plan to be following the (recommended maintenance) of the Pro as mentioned above.
I can't wait to get familiar with the (remote) and the idea to be able to launch the boat at the ramp and then hit the remote button to deploy the trolling motor and hit "spot lock" while I go and park the truck/trailer. At that time, I return to the dock and (whistle) to my boat to return to the dock so I can step onto it.

I am jealous. I can not find a riptide with spot lock anywhere. I am good with 12 or 24 volt and 55, 60 or 72 inch shaft. Even the factory doesn't have them due to computer chip shortage.

Me too. Picking up my new Crappie/Bass boat this weekend. Ordered up a 10' shallow water anchor (Talon) and got that in the garage with a bracket too. As to the Riptide, 80# with either 54 or 60 inch shafts, they are all (out of stock), I placed my order for one (Ulterra) a few days ago.
Was told I should expect to get it by end of June. Meantime, boat came with a 12v minn kota on it so I do have a trolling motor till the new one gets here.

A few years ago, my wife and I took our small Bass Tracker to Okeechobee and stayed at Rowland Martins Marina.

A guy that used the boat slip next to mine had a large Skeeter bass boat and he was from Texas. He had Talons on the back end and told me he had been a farmer and had had his fill with leaking hydraulics and hoses. Therefore, he went with the electric Talons instead.

In addition, per a tip I got in another posting from here, I plan to add one of those Drotto devices to the boat trailer. Any thing that can make it easier for me, I'm all in.

I'm about to add a Talon 10 ft. to the new crappie/bass boat I'm getting. Boat is aluminum and quite light, don't plan to add the second one cause am also going for a MK Ulterra with spot lock and automatic deployment.

Have read of many problems with the Ulterra deployment, but am gonna try it anyway. Routine lube and maintenance seems to be key to avoid problems.

I worked in the fishing dept at B.P. a few years ago. Sold many Shimano reels including that model. i do not recall anything sticking that far out on side opposite the crank handle. Looks like an "add on" to me.
You do of course know that those crank handles are "reversible". You can unscrew the whole works and just switch sides if you happen to be a left hand caster and want to crank in with your right.

In addition as mentioned to the "clicking"/noise factor, the plastic or glass bead provides protection from the sliding weight slamming down each cast right into the line knot. The bead saves the knot.

I happen to be on the other side of this topic with my preference. Bait casting reels since the mid 50s at least have had a button on the side and/or later on a thumb button to free up the spool for casting. After the cast, a slight turn of the reel handle, locks up the spool again and you can begin your retrieve.
As to Spinning reels, several years ago, there were many quality choices/selections of spinner types that also had a trigger. After reeling in the line, you reversed the reel handle about a half turn and it would automatically stop at the correct spot to put the line right under your finger.
Pulling that trigger released the spool for casting and you had the line held under your finger.

Make the cast, start turning the reel handle, the bail would close and you're into your retrieve. No need to use your other hand to close the damn bail. No need to have to look down and stop the reel handle just at the right time to line up everything for the next cast.
To me this is the way I like it for spinning reels. never ever had a broken bail spring. For sure, it must have been a problem for many as it's hard to find a spinning reel with a "trigger" anymore and when you do, they aren't the best around.
But I buy them and they work just fine for me. Don't care for ones without the trigger.

yes, carp are power house pullers, if you ever happen to go thru Nebraska and get to Omaha. Since the 1930s, this place became known for Carp sandwiches. Joe Tess's Restaurant.
