While using a slip bobber set up, I have not been able to find a good method (or answer) for securing the bobber stop on braided line. Seems like after a few minutes it just starts slipping on the line. Anybody got a better set up?
Easy, get a guide on day 1. The wild river shiners they use will eliminate small bass. And, the above comment about the gators is true.

In the wonderful state of ILLinOIZ if you are a disabled vet (at least 10%) your license is free. Just be sure to bring your weapon with you if you're fishing within Crook County (Chicago) or Lake Michigan.

Switched to left side cranks on all my bait casters three years ago, and never looked back. Takes a short adjustment period, but definitely worth the effort.
I live across the street from a Jr high school, and you can not begin to imagine the items they decide to throw away. Walking my pooches past their dumpsters, I'm starting to realize why schools is the #1 item on my property tax bill. May start taking pictures for the local newspaper action line.

The Wallyworlds here in Shitcago have N O fishing poles for sale! Think they are getting out of fishing all together in this area. Innerweb must be killing them.
It's so weird that even the County Mounties here can't interpret the regs. Shitcago has a mayor that has closed the lakefront so you can't fish. Navy Pier is closed forever so the tourist won't be able to see the skyline, and the fishing folks won't be able to catch a meal of perch during the winter. Have you ever seen a city and state shoot itself in both feet, then ask why they are broke? You just did!
