SLIP BOBBER HELP

While using a slip bobber set up, I have not been able to find a good method (or answer) for securing the bobber stop on braided line. Seems like after a few minutes it just starts slipping on the line. Anybody got a better set up?

¿Throw a CLOVE-HITCH on one or both ends?

Try the clove hitch like Able Man reccomended.
I’ve never tried that and I’ve always had the same problem.
I’ve always had to use a flouro leader to get the stop to stick.

You could try rubber stops, but I worry the braid may burn those up. The clove hitch may be the way to go.

Once you find the proper depth a dab of “super glue” will stop that slippage.

Take a piece of a rubber band and tie it in a knot on your line at the depth you want. It want slip and you can adjust it you need to change the depth.

Use a longer mono or floro leader tied to the braid, unless you are fishing super deep. I have often tied a 20 ft piece of line to my braid. its a lot cheaper than buying an extra rig.

We use the regular bobber stops fishing for steelhead above the dams and I’ve never had any problem with them slipping. Maybe be I pull them tight enough or am using a thicker braid. #30 lb.
