I got to both task. I cranked until it got stiff enough that my female cousins weren't heavy enough to hold it still, then I sat on it and my Dad or Uncle would crank until it was ready. I miss those days.

You know they refer to them as the good old days and yes were good days but there were lots of bad days to go with the good ones.

I just turned 88 and have seen a lot of things change and one thing I really miss is the family reunions.

Are we glad we have computers so we can keep out selves occupied during these times.

RJS did you ever try taking a chunk of the ice from the ice cream freezer and clutch it in you hand tightly and try to run around the house, I guarantee you will not make it around the house before opening your hand. That will be the coldest thing you have ever touched.

Today 4/2/2020 according to the corps of engr they are releasing 4681 cfs from Lavon and maybe Hubbard is just passing it through. But yes they play games with Lavon and Hubbard.

I was at the Lake today for about four hours but it only produced one small crappie. Others were only catching similar crappie. Don't know if the lake level has caused things to change but the dock usually produces better fish than that.

Will add catch of the day, that made my wife laugh.

Lake is about 7 feet above normal level and there fore up on the parking lots to all the parks and ramps except one. I ventured out today to the marina to remove the side curtains from my pontoon and drown a few minnows. The marina owner always operates a shuttle boat when parking lot is unusable. When I got there I would have had to wait about an hour for a operator of the shuttle. I put on my hip waders and went in. I knew the water was about 18 inches deep on the parking lot. There is a dip in the road leading to the parking lot and as I waded in, I found the water was mid thigh for 50 or 60 feet due to dip in road. I got one thing accomplished I started the day out to do. Got the side curtains off, folded and stored but drew a dud on the second task. Few nibbles, lost a couple but no catches. As a general rule fishing at the dock will produce at least a few crappie and channel cats but not today. Shuttle operator told me that no one he had given rides to had caught anything. Probably will try again tomorrow, can't let the minnows go to waste.

The governor just announced that fishing during the stay at home order is permitted but you must maintain the social distance requirement. I normally fish alone so that is okay with me, my problem is the parking lot at the marina where my boat is on Lake Lavon in Texas is under water due to lake being about 8 ft above normal level. May have to wade the parking lot to get to my boat, water on parking lot should be only about 18 inch deep.

I did not buy the fish tanks with mine but added 5 gallon buckets on back deck later. I bought mine in 1988 and the grand kids loved it but they are all grown now and have gone their ways. They handle rough water easily and are very roomy. I also added a sink which comes in real handy. Two separate bilge pumps supplies water to them

Just looked it up and Lake Lavon is approximately 9 feet over normal pool and therefore all ramps except one are closed due to high water level. That also means I can not get to my boat because the parking lot at the marina in about three feet under water. So will not be taking the covers off for awhile.

I have a 24 ft pontoon boat in East Fork Harbor Marina on lake Lavon near Wylie, TX. It removal side curtains for enclosing during winter time. Makes fishing in the marina slip great during winter time. It is not for open water usage because catches too much wind and you can not control it. Will remove the curtains shortly so can get back out on lake.

I will turn 88 in March of 2020. Dislocated my left shoulder 4 years ago unloading tree limbs from trailer and they did a reverse joint replacement and it works fine. Two years ago got my right knee replaced and works great. As long as they make replacement parts I may never leave this earth. I take medication for thyroid, cholesterol and high blood pressure which keeps all test well in range. I still maintain over half acre of yawn and do all home repairs. I also help my two sons with some of their projects. Do wood and metal work as hobby and fish fairly often. I have a 24 foot pontoon barge in slip so it is easy to get on the water.

I use a device that resembles the Danielson Spin Sinker. The weight is off set from the connection on each end and has swivels on each end. With weight of sinker off set from connections it will not spin and that forces the swivels to operate. Enter Danielson Spin Sinker on internet and you will find source.
