I can confirm carp. What bait did you use?

I started baitcasting four years ago. I am not too bad now. 12lb fluorocarbon line helps. Brake all the way and loosen one stop only when you start getting better. Lure has to be close to the tip to make long casts. Get good at getting bird nests out. They can happen even when you think your good. A big fighting fish can pull the line into the spool and you will get messed up on the next long cast. So make a few light casts after a big fish or snag. Good luck. It is worth learning.

Best laugh of the day. I was really feeling sorry for you.

Smooth tongue should rule out spotted or Kentucky. Thanks.

Okay. So I got up before noon to fish today per other posts and it worked. The comparison pictures are great. Real world they don’t pose as well. I catch and release most of the time. Take a quick picture and back in the water. Both of theses had smooth tongues. What do think they are?

Colors different here. Smalie and Large mouth bass. Some call the Large mouth a Kentucky. It has rough tongue.

Hello Fredfish, what kind of bass? Look a little different than my variety.

Nice fish. I’m in perch country. Bass, Bluegill, Etc. There are Walleye, Sauger, and Alligator Gar but I don’t catch them much. There are a good variety of Catfish that are the largest fish I catch. Please identify your catch. They look like they would dress up a dinner plate nicely.

Hang in there with the artificial stuff. Buy cheap stuff and risk losing them in weeds, rocks, and other cover. It isn’t like live bait waiting for them to cone to you. You go after them. When you get them you will be hooked.

I can’t help but share this December surprise. Checking on the boat and had to have a pole and spinner if I was going to be near water.

Standing by to see more of your lunkers.

Okay. Staying with actual size helped.

Plan on trying to share. How do you rotate? Preview shows my pics sideways. I don’t want anyone to hurt their neck trying to figure out what kind of minnow I caught. You guys have some great catches

Hello to all.

I grew up fishing from the shore with nightcrawlers and red wigglers. One open face Garcia Mitchell reel one a 6.5 foot fiberglass pole. 50 years later: Now I have a little lake property and a couple of baitcasters. Brave new world.

Not experienced with this technology either. First forum. Enjoy reading enough to join in and introduce myself.

Thank you

Hello to all. Great pictures. I am a new guy out here “lurking” in the background and learning. Really enjoy the pictures. When I attach a picture it loads sideways. If I figure out how I’ll share.

Thanks for the great pictures.
