I’m a braid user on all my set ups and I use fluoro leaders exclusively . Connect the two using a FG knot or if I have to tie it on the boat an Alberto knot.
Reason for me is sensitivity
This stuff transmits lure action and fish bites incredibly well. Especially so with top end rods
Recently turned my brother on to a spool of 15 pound power pro. Within a half hour of first use he was commenting how much improved his contact with his lure was.

Just curious. Always trying to learn something. Why tie an Alberto while on the boat?

Update: I mentioned that I put in a temporary washer. I just got off the phone with Daiwa Corporation and they are sending me a replacement at no charge.

Very nice. That is something that ought to be mentioned when making recommendations about what brand of equipment to buy. We should mention the level of service we have received. Value is more than just the price. Quoting the quotable RJ. just sayin

I religiously wear an auto inflate PFD While fishing on my boat
Had a stroke several years back and just a confidence thing. The inflatables are so comfortable I forget I’m wearing it
So today , I unhooked a nice saugeye and left the net on my casting deck. After untangling lure from net I quickly caught another smaller fish I flipped in the boat . While walking back to the livewell to deposit this fish, I tripped on the net and ended up face first into my passenger seat .
After regaining my senses (as if I had any in the first place), righting myself , straightening my bent glasses and wiping blood off my face, I started thinking that could have gone a whole lot worse.
Anyone ever have a close call?

Yes. I hooked my toe on some exposed wiring as I stepped up onto the front deck of a friend’s boat. Banged the left side of my head on the gunnel. Got up, checked myself and continued fishing. About a half hour later I felt an overwhelming need to lay done. I went out like a light. I woke up as my friend landed the boat at lakeside near my hotel. He was preparing to have me medivac’d. I felt perfectly fine. Asked him to continue fishing. My head was tender but otherwise no lasting effects. My wife wouldn’t agree but she knows me. 😂

Absolutely a shin issue. Sounds like you found one. Good deal.
Good rule of thumb is fill spool to within 1/8 inch of lip and you should be good to go

This is the right way to load the spool. Not sure it applies to this situation as the spool was not correctly mounted.

Thank you for letting us know

Ditto. So many folks ask a question and then don’t let us know how it went.

The front loading of the spool is caused by the lack of or too many shims or spacers (really washers) on the shaft of the spool. Unscrew the drag adjustment. Carefully pull the spool off. You will note that there are typically several washers on the shaft. In your case I would say you don’t have enough. Here’s the hard part. You will have to search for parts.
What’s happening is as you crank, the spool oscillates in and out. The travel of your spool is centered too far forward thus stacking the line forward. An additional washer or two will fix that.

I guess I should add that the point is you must remove or add spacers to move the center point of the spool travel forward (toward the tip of the rod).

I'm not familiar with that fish but a quick google said they can live between 30 meters and deeper. Some fish don't do well pulling them up from the deep water, the swim bladder swells up and they can't go back down. Haddock can't go back, Pollack can. Just a thought.

Deep water release devices are available for those fish that have swim bladders.
